The Bridge Pa Triangle and Gimblett Gravels wine growing regions of Hawkes Bay are home to the highest concentration of Cellar Doors in the region.
From our shop, in the heart of a vineyard - just 200m from your first winery, you can choose from a number of wineries to visit. Meander around the region on purpose-built cycle trails - it's very easy cycling as the region is flat. Stop in at a winery or two. Many offer cheese platters to lunch on, a few have more ambitious menus for you to try. Come and enjoy a great day out.

Collect your bike between 10am and 12pm from our base in Ash Ridge Wines’ vineyard. Then, clip on your helmet, hop into the saddle and peddle through the New Zealand countryside to begin your independent cycling tour. With your winery map to hand, follow flat, winding routes through the heart of the Hawke's Bay wine region. Along the way, visit the wineries that appeal to you and discover the diverse range of wines with a wine tasting (own expense). Perhaps visit wineries* such as Paritua Vineyard, Sileni Wines, Alpha Domus, Oak Estate, Ash Ridge Wines, Trinity Hill Unison Vineyard or Stonecroft. Depending on how many wineries you visit — and how long you stay — your tour will likely take between four and six hours. You can enjoy a quick lunch (own expense) overlooking vines at Sileni WInes, Ash Ridge, Trinity Hill, Unison or Oak Estate before meandering onto the next winery. With roadside support to help if you have any difficulties — such as a flat tyre — and to collect any wine that you purchase from the wineries (own expense), you’re free to relax and enjoy your day. At the end of your ride, return your bike to your starting point to bring your tour to an end. *Not all wineries are open every week day. All are open on weekends.

Fabulous bike rental company in the middle of Hawke’s Bay wine region. Great bikes which were easy to ride on the flat bike paths. Fabulous scenery and close to lots of wineries.

We had a great day out with On Yer Bikes - Phil's pre day comms were so helpful and thorough - our bikes for our group of 8 were ready when arrived and was super easy to get sorted - the trouser clips were an added bonus! We had a prefect day navigating the wineries and really liked the bike paths - Phil collected the wine we purchased so we didn't have to carry this. Would definitely return to On Yer Bikes for future trips.

If you like cycling and wine, this is a great experience for you. Phil was great to work with and the wineries on the route are wonderful. The cycling is flat and relatively easy...and ebikes are a blast in themselves. We particularly appreciated Onyerbikes service to pick up the wine that you bought and bring it back to your vehicle. Riding was mostly on a trail on the side of the road and very safe. Traffic was respectful. If like me you are a wine fan, I highly recommend checking out the wineries on the route ahead of time. Our favorite cellar was Radburnd but that was because we had setup a special tasting ahead of time. There are some very good wineries here and this is an absolutely fabulous way to taste their wines. So get On yer Bikes and get to it!

Just had a great day exploring the Hawkes Bay wineries. The bikes were in excellent condition and really easy to ride. There are 2 suggested routes - 12 km or 25km. Having not cycled for a long time we opted for the shorter & did a few detours too. The trails are well maintained & nice and flat. Most of the wineries have some sort of food - either a cheese platter or something more formal if you’d prefer. You just need to choose your route depending on what you fancy. We didn’t book in advance for either the bikes or the wineries but I’m told it can be necessary at busier times. So basically it was a lovely day out enjoying the sunshine with good food & wine.

The bikes were in good working order and we were sent off with a map and suggestions on how to proceed. It was an easy ride on flat terrain. The wineries were beautiful and the staff were very informative and friendly!

Phil was really accommodating and flexible with organising a reasonably large group. He made everything easy for a fun day out. Everything was well organised and seamless. It was an absolutely perfect day and I highly reccommend booking with On Yer Bike, to experience some Hawkes Bay’s best wine and food options. Biking provides the perfect balance to the winery visits. Thank you for looking after us!

We got great advice from on yer bike about the route and we cycled to 4 wineries - Ash Ridge, Sileni, Paritua and Oak Estate. It was a Thursday and the wineries were not busy so we enjoyed chatting to the knowledgeable winery staff during our tastings. Lovely wines and we had to buy a few to enjoy after the trip. The cycling is flat so easy on a non-electric bike.

Friendly owner, good wines, easy ride. Enjoyable day. It did not take us as long as suggested in the add. 4 hours, including an excellent lunch at one of the wineries.
