Collect your bike between 10am and 12pm from our base in Ash Ridge Wines' vineyard. Then, clip on your helmet, hop into the saddle and peddle through the New Zealand countryside to begin your independent cycling tour. With your winery map to hand, follow flat, winding routes through the heart of the Hawke's Bay wine region. Along the way, visit the wineries that appeal to you and discover the diverse range of wines with a wine tasting (own expense). Perhaps you will visit wineries* such as Paritua Vineyard, Sileni Wines, Alpha Domus, Oak Estate, Ash Ridge Wines, Trinity Hill Unison Vineyard or Stonecroft. Depending on how many wineries you visit — and how long you stay — your tour will likely take between four and six hours. You can enjoy a quick lunch (own expense) overlooking vines at Sileni WInes, Ash Ridge, Trinity Hill, Unison or Oak Estate before meandering onto the next winery. With roadside support to help if you have any difficulties — such as a flat tyre — and to collect any wine that you purchase from the wineries (summer season only), you’re free to relax and enjoy your day. At the end of your ride, return your bike to your starting point on or before 4pm to bring your tour to an end. *Not all wineries are open every week day. All are open on weekends.

This was a great experience. The bikes were really well maintained and safe, Phil provided maps that gave us plenty of flexibility on our route, and he also picks up any purchased wine so we didn’t need to ride with it. The trails were well maintained and it was easy to get around to the wineries. I would recommend this to friends.

Fourth time using On Yer Bike and it’s extremely convenient and great bikes. We went for the e-bikes this time and they were great for getting to the vineyards that were slightly further away, giving us more time for enjoying the tasting. Would 100% recommend

Bikes were not in best of shape. One of our group lost a pedal screw and we had to wait for cycle shop to deliver a new bike. We lost over 1/2 hour just waiting and further delays due to trying to manage with problem bike. Wine tour shortened. A few of the wineries offered no food snacks which made it difficult to have a wine tasting. Also wineries who are supposed to have lunch available said their chef never came in. We were very disappointed with both the wineries and the bike tour. I would recommend doing a wine tour in another area like Marlborough or Queenstown. Very disappointing for the good money paid!

Brilliant tour. Bikes were excellent, instructions clear and detailed. We had a fantastic day and that was due in no small part to On Yer Bike. Our son and his girlfriend did the tour a few weeks ago and had a blindingly brilliant time too. Highly recommended.

Most enjoyable bike ride, great scenery, quiet, peaceful, little traffic and on top of all that there was wine. Bikes were perfectly adequate for the flat terrain and easily capable of combating the unseasonable wind. Very helpful advice from the owner. Highly recommended. Stuart S.

Firstly hire an Electric bike it’s worth it. The whole experience was first class! The bikes were very good and Phil’s setting us on our way was good. He collected the wines we bought so we didn’t have to carry them. I had a puncture and very quickly he brought a replacement bike. Don’t underestimate the amount of cycling and our day was very hot. Excellent business can’t fault it!
