Stockhorn

Fly by the Stockhorn mountain and see the turquoise blue lake of Thun from above. The rivers and streams that flow into Lake Thun bring cold glacier water with them. This discoloration in the lake gives a beautiful play of colours and can be seen very well from a helicopter.

I recently enjoyed a private helicopter flight with FunFlights, and it was one of the most memorable experiences I have had in Switzerland. Everything from the organisation to the atmosphere to the views was truly outstanding. We departed from Bern and flew towards Neuchâtel, passing over the lakes and rolling landscapes which already felt impressive. The flight continued to Gruyères, where we landed for a traditional Swiss fondue in a beautiful alpine setting. It was a perfect combination of adventure and Swiss culture. After lunch, we flew back towards the Alps, passing the Stockhorn area, Lake Thun and the town of Thun. Seeing these familiar places from above gave me a completely new perspective. The mountains, lakes and valleys looked even more dramatic from the air. The weather added a special touch to the day. There was plenty of sun, but also some clouds around the peaks which created a wonderful play of light and shadow. It made the scenery feel alive and constantly changing. Olivier was an exceptional pilot. Calm, friendly and very professional. He explained what we were seeing, answered questions and made sure we felt safe and comfortable the entire time. His passion for flying and for Switzerland is truly contagious. This is an experience I would recommend to anyone who wants to discover the Swiss Alps in a unique and unforgettable way. We had an unforgettable helicopter tour with Oliver. Everything was arranged very professionally from beginning to the end. The safety standards are very high and the helicopter was very modern and comfortable with ample vision to take pictures and videos and space for the legs although i am over 6 foot high. The flight in itself was breathtaking as you fly by the Stockhorn and you get a full view on the lake of Thun and the Swiss Alps with the Eiger, Moench and Junfgfrau. If you are in the Bernese Alps region, I would definitely recommend booking a flight with Oliver as you will make some unforgettable memories.

An absolutely fantastic experience! Oliver, our pilot, was super - pointed out all the various sights and was very knowledgeable about the area. The flight itself could not have been smoother. None of us had ever been in a helicopter before and he made us feel so comfortable. Couldn’t recommend this enough!

We had such an incredible time on our helicopter tour of the Swiss Alps - our pilot Oliver made us feel so safe and the ride was incredibly smooth. The scenery was breathtaking - truly a once in a lifetime experience worth every dollar. Highly recommend!
