Interesting formula, which can be chosen, which combines the usual hop on hop off with the boat ride between the canals. The only downside is the short time (10.00 - 16.00), really inconceivable in August when in Helsinki it gets dark at 21.30

There are 2 hop on hop off tour companies with almost identical busses. The one operated by Stomma is a Swedish company, while the other is owned locally. Everything started out well, but then I noticed that the driver would stop for very little time at the various stops and didn't show concern with either those wishing to hop off or those wishing to hop on. We were left behind by the driver at the Akershus Fortress stop even though we were clearly heading to the vehicle and waving at her. I recommend the other company, City Sightseeing.

We were told by the salesperson at bus stop no1 that the bus would be there in 10 minutes and after 50 minutes it’s just turned up ! Not stopped at the right place . The sales person would not listen , apparently due to 2 cruise ships arriving - it’s a city ! We re using a wheelchair , luckily there was not anyone else using a wheelchair otherwise due there being only being one space we would have had to wait even longer maybe another hour or so We realised when getting off that we should have been given a pair of ear phones to listen to a guide ! Totally useless A lack of future planning by the bus company . There is a ‘no refund policy ‘ The poor selling technique Exceedingly expensive for what you receive We do not recommend for abled bodied or wheelchairs users

There was much to see in Central Helsinki but the outer ares toured less so. The bus was comfortable with open roof on a nice day.

Hop on Hop off tours are the best way to familiarize yourself with a city. The additional canal cruise was lovely. You could sit inside or outside.

Not much to see at the canal boat tour. Disrespect by one of the Stromma's Hop on Hop off bus drivers suspicious of us using fake bus passes to get on the tour bus. We felt being insulted and degraded. Wait time is long at each stop.

Convenient way to get oriented to the town. Roof top on bus was opened and closed multiple times during scattered showers. Happy with our seats in the front on the top level. Boat is quiet time; provides info and views of the multiple islands.

If I could I would give them less than one star. ALL the info I received said they started at 10:00, so we didn't hurry getting off the boat. When we got there, there were AT LEAST 50 people in line, most of them just walking up and buying tickets and getting on the already-full bus. NO service given to those of us who had already purchased tickets, we went to the back of the line - behind people who had not even yet purchased, but were told they could purchase on the bus! We FINALLY got on the THIRD bus and decided to take advantage of the boat cruise when we got to that stop. HOWEVER, the person who took my voucher (which I didn't think he was supposed to take) failed to give me boat tickets, only bus tickets. THANK GOODNESS I had my receipt with me which showed I had bought 4 boat tickets, as well as the bus tickets. The boat ride was interesting and I would recommend just buying it separately. When we got back from the boat ride, we caught a bus (after waiting well over the 20 minutes promised) and when we got to the last stop, instead of continuing on, the driver announced he was taking a break and the bus would not leave again for at least 30 minutes. HOWEVER, the bus parked next to us would leave in 7 minutes. So about 20 of us got off the bus and went to the other bus, only to be told there were only 7 available seats!! When we returned to the first bus, he refused to let us on, saying he was "driving around the block to get a better parking space'. He returned 15 minutes later with a half-full bus, all the upstairs seats taken. We got back on and waited another 20 minutes to leave. Several people insisted on getting on the bus and standing because they had to get to the ship. When we arrived back at the ship, it was 1 hour until our on-board time, and a bus circuit was at least 1 hour and 30 minutes, so we never got to HOP OFF at all and saw nothing that was not on the boat tour or the main streets the bus drove.

City Sightseeing was the brand we used. There are other red bus tours and it can get confusing. The canal boat tour was especially interesting. We did not listen to the commentary on the bus as we did not take the head phones from the front of the bus.

First time we went the audio didn’t work. When it did work it was informative. Comprehensive and interesting goes via the cruisers when they come in
