What an experience we had on this hike. Absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. The tour guide, Briant, is brilliant and very funny. Safety and happiness is his main concern. The hike was changeling for our group due to the muddy conditions, but was it worth it. The waterfalls are amazing. We are thankful to have gone on this trip for sure. Thank you again

We had the best day with Briant! He was so knowledgeable and provided interesting facts along our drive and hike and took us to the most beautiful waterfall! Packing an extra pair of clothes isn’t a suggestion - it’s a must! Including shoes! Thanks for a great day!

Everything about this tour exceeded expectations. Alex was the best guide we could have asked for. Born and raised in rural Panama, he knows the jungle intimately and was a fount of knowledge from start to finish. We appreciated the beauty of the jungle so much more for hearing his stories and learning about the plants and animals of Panama.

My husband and I did this tour with Alex. I have to say it was amazing. Alex is a walking encyclopedia! He genuinely cares about his guests. He made sure we were safe. He went out of the way to point out tracks in the mud to miniature frogs. We even saved a sloth in the middle of the road. The hike is tough. You should be in shape otherwise it will be a struggle. The waterfall was gorgeous. Eating and meeting the natives was pretty cool. A must do tour!

My daughter and I love to travel together, so when we had an opportunity to take a short trip to Panama, I wanted to find a fun outdoor activity to do. If you like to hike, look no further. This is an amazing hike to do. Alex was our guide. I read many reviews before booking this guided tour and all of them praised Alex. Alex is a genuine and humble individual. He is a local, knows the area and terrain well, and is full of knowledge. As a teacher/educator, I value a good lesson, and boy did we get one! I wont spoil it for you, but if youre up to a physical challenge, the end result of this hike is worth it! The booking information about this activity is spot on, so read it and be sure to follow all the recommendations. I want to personally thank Alex for a wonderful experience and definitely plan to do this again. You will not be disappointed!

Our guide Alex was very knowledgable, letting us in on the history of Panama and the rainforest and its inhabitants. From Panama City, it was around 1.5-2 hrs to the entrance of the hike (in an indigenous area - Guna Yala region). The hike was through the rainforest (no paved path, just a narrow path throughout the entire trail). The trail followed an uphill/downhill path, leading us through a few streams. We went in February (dry season) so we didn't have to go through mud or any deep waters (basically just ankle height). After 2 hrs of hiking (with stops), we made it to a beautiful waterfall with refreshing waters. Definitely take a swim! We made the hike back to the car (around 1-1.5 hrs) and had a delicious meal at a local Guna Yala home. If you hike once in a while, you will have no problem doing this hike. I would recommend trail runners/hiking boots and enough water for the hike. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys hiking/waterfalls. P.S. bathrooms don't exist in the rainforest, so be prepared to get cozy with mother nature. P.P.S. If you're contemplating how fit you are...apparently a 60+ year old grandma was able to complete the hike the day before we went!

This is not your typical touristy excursion. This is a true adventure expedition and the guide, Alex, is absolutely amazing! The hike is approximately 3 miles in each direction through pristine, untouched jungle. You will get muddy and it will be challenging in spot, but you will be rewarded with a swim in a gorgeous waterfall. Alex is an expert - you will not be in danger but do not expect cleared or paved paths.

Alex is a really good tour guide. It is truly an once in a lifetime hike and the waterfall is amazing. The hike is actually in a virgin jungle that has narrow muddy paths. Although we had an 8 year and 60 plus individual with us, it might not be ideal for some. it was 1.5-2 hours hike one way to the waterfall. There are some fear factor moments. Overall, enjoyed the hike and the meal with local family afterwards.

If you like hiking and enjoy a challenge then you must go on this trip with Alex. This is not an easy journey, however Alex will show you the reason why you did it. Ask him to show you the third dimension of the local environment and if you are sincere he will help you see it. A life changing experience.

An amazing experience. Our guide, Alex, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the ecosystem we were entering, as well as the current challenges for its indigenous guardians. His passion for sharing Panamas beauty and history was inspiring. This is a jungle, not rain forest, hike. Do not expect to see the same kind of fauna but it is no less beautiful and ecologically important. It is higher altitude with changeable weather....be prepared for wet and cooler temperatures. The footing was extremely muddy. Proper clothing and footwear is important and be prepared to be covered in red mud....awesome. Tips...bring a full change of clothing, including shoes. The water at the falls is cool but an absolute must....bring swimwear. As Alex explains, while you should bring Deet just in case, there were absolutely NO mosquitos and the neurotoxin is not good for the fish. Points of clarity not included in the description...you will stop on the way there to get snacks. There are toilets at the start and end but bring toilet paper. The lunch is provided by local hosts also terrific at the end of the hike....eat a hearty breakfast. Hikers should be in good physical condition as the return hike is essentially all ascent. Take the intermediate rating seriously but be prepared to have a soul satisfying adventure. Thanks, Alex!
