This excursion was the highlight of our trip! The communication prior to the trip was excellent. Jimmy, our tour guide met us at the cruise port. It was like meeting a long lost family member. He welcomed us so warmly and enthusiastic. Jimmy has an amazing sense of humor that kept us all laughing the entire day. He started by briefly explaining all the stops and customizing the entire day to our interests and timeframe. We visited many castles and saw many breathtaking views of Scotland’s countryside. We visited Inveraray Castle and even had enough time to tour the interior. Jimmy took us to Oban, a small fishing town for lunch. He recommended Oban Fish and Chip Shop for lunch. This restaurant has won many awards including “One of the top three fish and chip shops in the UK by National Geographic”. The food was incredible, by far the best fish and chips we’ve ever eaten. One of jimmy’s jokes was that he doesn’t like to talk, well you would never know this since he talked the entire time explaining everything we saw, telling amazing stories and teaching us all kinds of Scotland’s history. Jimmy’s knowledge of Scotland is second to none, we’ll expect maybe his brother since they have both taken 1st and 2nd prizes in a Scotland knowledge and facts competition for many years in a row. We had such an amazing day with Jimmy that my wife and I are already talking about coming back again just to go on another adventure with Jimmy. If you’re planning on visiting Scotland, this excursion is a must! Make sure to request Jimmy, he’s the best!! Hey Jimmy, let me know when you spot the white faced sheep! See you again soon my friend!
