In this adventure you can explore and photograph an active super volcano and enjoy multiple natural attractions that surround it, you will definitely live an epic hike. Momotombo with a fascinating history is part of a group of 10 volcanoes connected to each other and lined up along the fire belt where 75% of the world’s volcanoes are located. With a perfect cone and almost 1300 meters above sea level this 4500 year old volcano can be observed from anywhere, it is considered the most representative volcano of Nicaragua. This hike is a difficult challenge even for the most experienced hikers, however; if you are inexperienced, physically fit enough or your time is very short you can combine the easier trails through amazing viewpoints and avoid the more difficult sections. Even if you can’t reach the top you can walk on the volcano and enjoy fantastic views. This is why this hike is highly recommended for everyone.

5.00I had a fantastic experience with Fun 'N' Sun Travels. The team is professional, speaks English and tries everything possible to ensure you have exactly the experience you want! I originally wanted to join a group to climb Momotombo Volcano, but no one else was available on the dates I could go, so I set off alone with a local guide. I was a little nervous at first, as I had read online how difficult the hike was. But I had the best time. My guide Guillermo was a dream (and super funny!). He is experienced, adapted to my pace and told me so much about the volcanoes and the landscape. And yes, the hike is a bit more technically demanding, but for more experienced hikers in good shape, it's no problem at all. What an experience, it was absolutely unique! The views of this volcano are just out of this world. This will certainly not be my last hike with Fun 'N' Sun!

5.00I just finished 5 days of adventure travel in Nicaragua with Fun N Sun Travels, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I normally prefer to travel solo and figure things out as I go, but this was hands down the best tour experience I’ve ever had. I hiked three volcanoes—including Momotombo—and did an overnight trip to Somoto Canyon. Because the countryside is remote and not easily accessible, having a 4x4 and a local guide was essential. Fun N Sun gave me the perfect balance of adventure and independence. Every detail was taken care of—local guides, authentic food, camping spots—and I still had space for solitude and exploration on my own terms. It was a deeply personal, unforgettable trip. I can’t recommend them enough.

5.00We had a wonderful time with Memo as our guide in Nicaragua. The day before our first hike, the company helped us to go boot shopping. That was really cool. We hiked 4 vulcanoes, and he took care of everything. It was very well planned. We had 2 kids aged 9 and 12, and he managed to make it fun and doable for them as well. We would definitely recommend to book your next Vulcans experience with these guys.

5.00Honestly, the hike to Momotombo with Guide Guillermo was such an extraordinary positive experience! The entire trip was well planned and Guillermo always spread a good atmosphere so that our group could get along very well. His knowledge of the volcano and other facts about Nicaragua were all very informative, and his English is top notch. The hike to the top of Momotombo was challenging, but not as hard as I had imagined. We were provided with plenty of fruit and small sweet treats to the top where we eventually got rewarded with a phenomenal 360° view. After the descend, we were able to cool off and enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch at the lagoon. All in all I can highly recommend this tour l as they keep the group size small. On this day we were the only people, both on the volcano and on the lagoon. Keep up the positive energy Guillermo. ✌️
