Take the path less traveled to this natural wonder. We begin with kayaking across this spectacular lake with plenty of wilderness to enjoy. We then hike up to the glacier through a stunning narrow gorge, stop for lunch (you bring a packed lunch), and then onto the glacier to see plenty of crevasses, water holes and other glacial features to explore. This trip has it all! With a great variety of activity and scenery.

A SPECTACULAR, VARIED DAY, WITH A LOT OF ACTIVITY FOR THE WHOLE BODY! We begin taking tours on Tunsbergdalsvatnet (lake) around June 11 and take tours here until Styggevatnet is ready for kayak paddling (usually around July 11). This lake sits 1,000m below forest-clad mountains, which surround both lake and glacier, making for some of the best, most scenic kayaking in Norway! After kayaking to the lakes end, we continue by foot alongside the Glacier River, which flows through a narrow, spectacular gorge. This leads us to Tunsbergdalsbreen (glacier), the longest valley glacier in Norway. We enjoy lunch in this totally isolated area before exploring the glacier, walking in crevasses and around meltwater holes, before finally turning for home. This tour has the most variety and solitude you could imagine in just one day, an experience you (your arms and your legs) will remember! We meet at the Breheimsenter for this tour. You follow the Icetroll vehicle to the lake and on the way there is a toll of 80kr, to be aware of. They only accept cash.

My wife and I and a couple from Belgium were treated to a fabulous kayak, hike, and glacier walk led by Kale and Flavia. The rain held off and the wind was often at our back on the return kayak, which certainly helped with our spirits. But Kael and Flavia were cheery and knowledgeable guides who moved us at the perfect pace, answered all our questions, shared their fascination with the landscape, and took a genuine interest in their guests.
