This hiking tour takes you through a variety of surroundings. In Spring, pretty flowers, fragrant herbs and rare Rhodian Orchids line your way. This hiking tour is ideal for anybody who likes to get off the beaten track and more experienced hikers will certainly be glad they came!
o Hike the second highest mountain of the island
o Explore a different side of Rhodes – lush vegetation and rocky peaks in a Natura 2000 protected area
o Enjoy the 360 views from the top (Dodecanese Islands, Turkey, inland of Rhodes)

Your hike starts near the beautiful rural village of Monolithos, on the undeveloped and as yet unspoilt western side of the island. The summit of Akramitis, the second highest in Rhodes, is your goal for today! The hike gradually ascends on green slopes under cypress trees overlooking the bay of Apollakia. Soon the hiking trail becomes more demanding as you start to walk along a rocky path. After the most strenuous stint, you find yourself surrounded by colourful shrubs leading to the first stop of the day – the tiny old chapel of St John. Here you will have a welcome snack and then it’s onwards and upwards to the top. Just before you arrive, you find yourself again scrambling over rocks for a short time but once you reach the summit you will be lost for words. From the top of the mountain, you get to see both sides of Rhodes, the nearby islands, the lake of Apollakia, Attaviros (the highest mountain on Rhodes) and inland Rhodes. You will follow a different route on the way down during your Hiking Tour Akramitis Mountain, one that takes you through a forest of tall pine trees. This hiking tour is ideal for anybody who likes to get off the beaten track!

This group was fantastic. We did two hikes and two city tours with them. The guides were super organized, friendly and they knew their stuff. Although some of the activities were challenging, safety was paramount. The guides were also very knowledgeable about the history of the sites, the fauna and the flora. They were generous in sharing their personal experiences. We hiked late in the season but their love for the activities could be felt in the energy and the personal attention they provided throughout our adventure. They created experiences that were very fun.

Amazing tour, the pickup from my hotel was on-time, the views from Akramitis were incridible, very friendly and helpful guides, definetly a 10/10 experience. I was there as a solo traveller and really enjoyed it.

A fascinating hike with breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding area. At the beginning of the hike it is relatively steep uphill. Some fitness and hiking boots are required here. There is a small snack break along the way at a small chapel. The food was typical Greek and looked delicious. After the break we head to the summit. Once at the top you have a beautiful view. For the descent, a slightly different route is taken, which is also easier. Overall a recommended hike. The tour guides took good care of us and entertained us very well.
