What To Expect

Before the hike, we will start with the sublime Maïdo viewpoint over the Cirque de Mafate, to get in touch with this magnificent environment. Then, we take the path that runs along the rampart of Mafate to enjoy the exceptional views of the circus and discover the natural environment of the high plateaus of Reunion. We then descend to the site of "La Glacière", witness to the dark past of the island during the time of slavery and maroonage. Activity offered in the rainy season to replace our "Authentic immersion in Mafate" hike. A good understanding of French is necessary to participate in this activity. Recommended minimum age: 12 years old. For any child under 12, please contact us for more information. We cannot accept minors under the age of 18 unaccompanied by an adult.
