Explore the world of edible wild mushrooms on this foraging 101 walking tour through British Columbia's rainforests. Your wildcraft, myco guide will teach you how to safely identify local wild mushrooms; delicacies like porcini, chanterelle and lobster mushrooms are just a few of the many edibles we may find. We'll showcase all fungi that we find on an easy stroll through the lush forest understory and discuss cooking, preservation techniques and harvesting stories.
Note that this isn't a harvesting trip, it's a class that teaches you how to find and safely identify edible wild mushrooms. We explore and examine wild mushrooms in situ as it's illegal to harvest in parks.
Please contact us prior to booking the class if you don't have a car as the tours that are accessible by public transit are scheduled in late October to December.
Please check your email the week before the class as the meeting point may change depending on where the mushrooms are popping up.
