A 3 days Hiking tour on the epicness of Albanian South and Riviera to discover some of the most breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea. We will travel to the heart of "The Accroceraunean Mountains" to hike in the so-called "house of gods" if we refer to Albanian mythology and what people believed a few millennia back in time.
An unforgettable trip when you will walk from steep mountaintops to sea level and enjoy the diversity of around 2000m altitude.

Llogara National Park
We will leave Tirana to head toward South Albania. Leaving the city of Vlora, our next destination will be the Natural park of Llogara. The road to the Llogara National Park begins where the Adriatic and Ionian Seas meet. This “mountain of panoramas,” which is attractively flanked by many mountain ranges and the breathtaking Ionian Sea, begins with lush pine and oak woodlands. The Llogara National Park, roughly 40 kilometers southeast of Vlora, is one of Albania’s most popular natural parks, with diverse flora and wildlife as well as some of the country’s best cuisine.
After dropping off our things at the Hotel, we will start our hike toward the “Qorre Peak”. Known also as one of the most scenic hikes in Albania, you will be able to enjoy the view of the Ionian sea from almost all the way to the top. Overnight at the Hotel.
Night spend in authentic Albanian Village.

The second day starts with a traditional breakfast and for today, we will be meeting the sea at St Andrea Bay. Most of the Albanian Coastline villages have a strong Christian Orthodox connection, so very often bays or even villages are named after saints or specific religious events.
St Andrea Bay is a totally remote bay, only reachable by the same trail we will be taking or by boat. The trail will go through a very dense forest for the first hour and after we start descending with the most spectacular view. Free time at the bay for swimming and picnic lunch. The return will be by using the same trail. Overnight at the same Hotel.

Himara Castle
Wander through the epicness of the Old city of Himara, at the top of the hills. Now almost abandoned visiting this part of the coast is like going back in time. Optional lunch at Himara where you can choose between the Seafood specialties at local restaurants or the Greek culinary twist. They return to Tirana after a day full of activities.

The tour is well organized and rich in experience. Our guide, Engjell, was very knowledgeable, and accommodating of our requests. We highly recommend this tour of the South of Albania for first time visitors.

I visited Albania in early April and reached out to Andi from Go as Local to arrange for a hiking tour. Both Andi and my guide Daniel were amazing and recommended I explore the southern region, as some of the most beautiful hikes were located in this area. Despite having some unusual weather (a very cold and snowy spring), which caused some trails to be inaccessible, Go as Local worked hard to find alternatives on such short notice. Which I really appreciated. Their attention to detail (hotel selection/food) did not go unnoticed. They stand apart from other tours as they select some of the best hidden gems in Albania. Qorre Peak was beautiful and a perfect mix of snow, mountains and beach views. St. Andreas Bay was the most challenging hike I have ever been on. The elevation gain is intense but worth every minute. Having an entire beautiful bay to yourself is such a lovely reward. Both Andi and Daniel made the experience wonderful and I highly recommend the company and this adventure.
