The Independence Palace
Independence Palace was the base of Vietnamese General Ngo Dinh Diem until his death in 1963. It made its name in global history in 1975. A tank belonging to the North Vietnamese Army crashed through its main gate, ending the Vietnam War. Today, it's a must-visit for tourists in Ho Chi Minh City. The palace is like a time capsule frozen in 1975. You can see two of the original tanks used in the capture of the palace parked in the grounds. Independence Palace was the home and workplace of the French Governor of Cochin-China. It has lush gardens, secret rooms, antique furniture, and a command bunker. It's still in use to host important occasions in Ho Chi Minh, including APEC summits.

5.00We had a brilliant day trip to Ho Chi Minh City that covered an impressive variety of sights. From the beautiful Pagoda and local craft shops to the Independence Palace and the surprisingly iconic Post Office, every stop was well worth it. Lunch was a highlight - truly authentic and delicious Vietnamese cuisine. In the afternoon, we explored the local market and the War Remnants Museum before capping the day off with a must-try egg coffee. Our guide, Henry, was fantastic; he has a great personality and his English is excellent!

5.00Of all the day tours we’ve taken globally, this was by far the best. Our guide, Lynn, was warm, knowledgeable, and speaks fluent English. Lynn reached out via WhatsApp the day before, making our cruise ship pickup perfectly seamless. She was incredibly flexible, allowing our group of six to customize the itinerary so we could spend more time at the spots that interested us most. Instead of the standard tourist fare, Lynn helped us navigate the menu to try unique local dishes beyond just Pho and Banh Mi. We also loved the stop at the Trung Ngyuen Coffee store for some high-quality beans and iced coffee. Beyond the sights, Lynn shared fascinating insights into the daily lives of locals - a truly precious experience. Highly recommended!

5.00After disembarking our cruise, we were greeted immediately by Henry, who was waiting with a clear sign. As travelers from the USA, we were instantly impressed by his excellent English and how easy it was to converse with him. Even though the traffic from the port is quite intense and the drive is long, our guide struck the perfect balance of sharing insights and allowing us quiet time to relax. This company provides top-tier service, and we highly recommend them for any cruise excursion.

Hana knew so much about the buildings, so much about the history and knew how to answer every question we asked. Spoke very good and fluent English. The food in the restaurant she suggested was super tasty. Hana has taught us so much history for which we are grateful.
