Best food tour in Hoi An! The tour guide was so nice, she took us to the most amazing locations in Hoi An! Most normal tourists would just walk past these locations but now they’re a must eat location! Most noticeable location was the Black Sesame soup shop, amazing food & so rich with local history!

Amazing tour with an amazing guide. Honestly the best food I’ve had in Vietnam - especially the wonton soup!

Absolutely a must-try experience! :) We had a wonderful food tour around Hoi An hosted by the lovely and kind Quin. When we first met, she gave everyone a bottle of water. It may seem like a small gesture to some people, but it meant a lot to me and showed how thoughtful and well prepared she is. We started at Sum Banh Mi, where we were served delicious banh mi. This restaurant has been serving banh mi for more than 30 years. In the beginning, the location made it difficult to attract customers, but as tourism in Hoi An grew, they became extremely popular. Today, they bake fresh bread every two hours. Our second stop was at Hieu, where we tried a Vietnamese-style pizza inspired by Western cuisine. It was fun to try something so unique, and the taste was completely different from anything we had before. Next, we visited Banh Beo Tu to try the special water fern cake. It’s a very unique dish that only a few people in Hoi An know how to make. The preparation takes a long time, and she starts cooking at 3 in the morning every day. It was definitely a special experience to try this traditional cake. Then we stopped at Com Ga Ang Xi, where we had their famous chicken rice with turmeric and Vietnamese coriander. It tasted really good! They also served us a flavorful broth that was absolutely delicious. Before leaving, they invited us to refill our bottles with their cold and refreshing tea, which was amazing. After that, we went to Xi Ma to try the sweet black sesame soup. The story behind this place was fascinating. A man once tried the soup in China and decided to create his own version. It is believed that drinking it every day helps people live longer. He lived to be 108 years old before passing away during Covid. After his death, his daughter-in-law became the chef to continue the family tradition. His widow was also there when we visited, and she is now 103 years old. The soup is also believed to help prevent gray hair. I honestly really enjoyed it, it tasted great, and it felt like a true authentic Vietnamese experience. Our final stop was at Sinh To Sau, where we had a refreshing bowl of mixed tropical fruits blended with ice, including mango, papaya, and avocado. It was the perfect ending to the tour. Throughout the entire experience, Quin shared all these stories with such joyful energy and passion. I truly enjoyed the tour so much. My warmest recommendations to anyone visiting Hoi An we spent around three hours together and got to try so many different foods that we never would have discovered on our own.

Very nice tour. Loved the selection of places, very local and would be hard to find them by myself. Food selection was very good, also insights into traditions and stories behind the dishes. The banh mi place was my favorite together with longevity black sesame soup.
