Enjoy a half-day cycling tour through the peaceful countryside of Hoi An, away from the busy old town. This easy ride takes you along quiet village roads, rice paddies, and riverside paths, offering a closer look at local life.
After hotel pick-up and a short bike briefing, start cycling through local neighborhoods and farmland. Visit a local family business to see how Cao Lau noodles, Hoi An’s signature dish, are made. Continue riding through rice fields to Tra Que Vegetable Village, where you’ll experience daily farm activities such as preparing soil, planting vegetables, and watering crops using traditional methods.
Along the way, meet friendly water buffaloes and cycle under coconut trees toward a fishing village. Enjoy a relaxing ride in a traditional round bamboo basket boat and try catching river crabs for fun.
Finish the ride with a stop at a local coffee shop before ending the tour.(OPTIONAL MEAL)
The route is mostly flat, about 15 km, suitable for beginners and families.

What To Expect
Free pickup and drop off at your hotel in and around Hoi An, 5 km or 3 miles from Hoi An old town. If you're not in Hoi An, please come to our office in Hoi An to start the tour, or we'll help you find a private car transfer with a small surcharge. Safety first, you'll spend few minutes to learn the traffic rules in Vietnam, try on helmets and get familiar with riding your bike.
Hoi An
Cao Lau Noodles Stop Cao Lau is a traditional noodle dish found only in Hoi An. The noodles are thicker and chewier than regular noodles, made using water from ancient local wells and lye from regional wood ash. At this local family home, you’ll see how Cao Lau noodles are handmade using traditional methods passed down through generations, making this dish a true symbol of Hoi An’s culinary heritage.

5.00This tour was an amazing way of exploring the rural livelihood in Hoi An. We had so much fun cycling with Carol and Phuong, covering more than 10km for 5 hours. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a mini adventure with buddies. Lunch arranged was delicious too. Great memories 😊.

5.00“Local buddies” really was like spending the day with a friend. Carole was a great host. V friendly and informative. Nice flat easy route. The trip was a perfect mix of fun with local knowledge. A brilliant morning with the best lunch included! V good compared to a diff cycle tour I did.

5.00This might just have been my favorite experience in Vietnam. While the surroundings are beautiful and lend themselves to a spectacular visual overload, on a biking trip, your guide plays a huge role in shaping your experience. And I could not recommend Lan more. She was the most amazing guide and was extremely knowledgeable and patient in showing me around. With a genuine personality and excellent communication skills, she is the person for you, if you are looking to bike along bucolic Vietnam with a kindred spirit.

5.00I have been to Hoi an many times and this would have to be one of the best days I’ve had. Ben was fantastic. We did a full day cycling in the country side, palm village and island. We met loads of local families and experience their way of life. Everyone single interaction was special. The thing I really liked is that Ben did not push anything onto us and didn’t try to sell anything just very sincere. He donates money back to the farmers and locals which we really supported. Also a quick mention on the food. Not only was it all delicious but also plentiful. If anything too much. We will definitely use him again and highly recommend Local Buddy Tours. Thanks Ben!!!!

5.00The tour was very good! We saw different farmers and could help to plant some spinach. Ben and Lan gave us interesting informations about the country. The bycicles were also very good! The ride on the water buffalo was funny. We highly recommend this tour and local buddy tours!
