Spend a half-day cycling trip to see the most beautiful rural villages and rice paddies in Hoi An suburban. You will also get insights into the local lifestyle and experience some fun activities with the farmers and the fishermen.

Experience working with a farmer at Tra Que vegetable village: preparing the soil for seedlings, making the organic fertilizer, planting the baby plants, and watering.

Meet friendly water buffaloes, learn about their roles in Vietnamese farming life.

Ride on scenic paths under coconut trees before visiting a fishing village.

Stop at a fishing village, you'll hop in a round bamboo boat to have a relaxing ride along the river, and use fishing rods to catch river crabs for fun.

Continue to cycle along the river and finish the bike ride at a riverside restaurant for five Vietnamese dishes meal.

Easy ride on the flat path with a total distance of about 15 km.

What To Expect

Free pickup and drop off at your hotel in and around Hoi An, 5 km or 3 miles from Hoi An old town. If you're not in Hoi An, please come to our office in Hoi An to start the tour, or we'll help you find a private car transfer with a small surcharge. Safety first, you'll spend few minutes to learn the traffic rules in Vietnam, try on helmets and get familiar with riding your bike.

Tra Que Vegetable Village

Farming Experience In Tra Que Vegetable Farm: We'll start the tour with a short bike ride on quiet country roads, about 3 km. Then we'll take a short walk in Tra Que vegetable farm. Talk to friendly locals working in their gardens. Smell amazing herbs and take pictures of beautiful veggie field. Meet a local farmer, help him work the soil, plant baby veggies and water the plants with water buckets on your shoulders.

This tour was an amazing way of exploring the rural livelihood in Hoi An. We had so much fun cycling with Carol and Phuong, covering more than 10km for 5 hours. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a mini adventure with buddies. Lunch arranged was delicious too. Great memories 😊.

“Local buddies” really was like spending the day with a friend. Carole was a great host. V friendly and informative. Nice flat easy route. The trip was a perfect mix of fun with local knowledge. A brilliant morning with the best lunch included! V good compared to a diff cycle tour I did.

This might just have been my favorite experience in Vietnam. While the surroundings are beautiful and lend themselves to a spectacular visual overload, on a biking trip, your guide plays a huge role in shaping your experience. And I could not recommend Lan more. She was the most amazing guide and was extremely knowledgeable and patient in showing me around. With a genuine personality and excellent communication skills, she is the person for you, if you are looking to bike along bucolic Vietnam with a kindred spirit.

I have been to Hoi an many times and this would have to be one of the best days I’ve had. Ben was fantastic. We did a full day cycling in the country side, palm village and island. We met loads of local families and experience their way of life. Everyone single interaction was special. The thing I really liked is that Ben did not push anything onto us and didn’t try to sell anything just very sincere. He donates money back to the farmers and locals which we really supported. Also a quick mention on the food. Not only was it all delicious but also plentiful. If anything too much. We will definitely use him again and highly recommend Local Buddy Tours. Thanks Ben!!!!

The tour was very good! We saw different farmers and could help to plant some spinach. Ben and Lan gave us interesting informations about the country. The bycicles were also very good! The ride on the water buffalo was funny. We highly recommend this tour and local buddy tours!

My husband and I attended the private bike riding tour today and loved it. We saw and got to experience so much of daily Hoi An life, meet locals and really get involved! Whether it was farming with local farmers, learning some Vietnamese from our amazing tour guide Tu, riding a water buffalo or riding with a non-english speaking Vietnamese woman in a basket boat, this tour is an amazing and relaxing way to get to see a lot of the city you couldn't get without a guide to lead you and translate for you. Our tour guide was hilarious and clearly genuinely cared about us having the best time possible. He joked, made us feel comfortable and took some amazing photos along the way for us (attached).The bike ride itself was very relaxed. Tu provided us with water, direction for the occasional busy road we need to cross as well as valuable information along the way. Additionally the roads travelled did not provide many challenges as it was very flat and we were able to choose our own speeds. To finish the day we were treated to a 6 course meal for dinner making this experience serious value for money with so much packed in to just half a day! I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Hoi An.
