We have created this experience so one can get to know facts and our opinion on Hungary's recent past and present including changing from Communism to democracy and the creation of "illiberal democracy" in the past few years.

Or in fact - you can hear about our opinion in just about everything regarding Budapest, Hungary and beyond. We believe in honesty and will try to answer all questions.

How this experience goes depends on you. But if you don't have exact questions, we give an introduction to Hungary's modern era focusing on the last 30 years and mainly on historical, economical and political aspects in the first part of the conversation.

Which is followed by entering a conversation where you are able to ask anything you've ever wanted about Hungary: let it be controversial politics, its turbulent past or uncertain future, economy, our personal opinion, ideas for change, etc.

This conversation was the best experience we had during a packed week in Budapest. To have a deep discussion with a Hungarian citizen with such depth of knowledge of not only her own country but of the world, was a rare and wonderful opportunity. This experience will vary depending on what each visitor brings to the table so I recommend some overview of the history of Hungary and Budapest prior to your meeting to make the best use of your time. Ninety minutes goes by fast. The National History Museum and a tour of the Great Synagogue on Dohany St. were helpful for us but even a quick encyclopedia review would work. Plus, we got a great recommendation for lunch. If you are in Budapest, in part, to learn more of its history, its people and its present challenges, do not miss this tour.

An ideal tour for someone who has perhaps been to Budapest before has some knowledge of the modern history of Hungary and wants to know more about the contemporary situation. Daniel was an excellent host very knowledgeable friendly and informative. I would have been happy to talk to him for many more hours!
