We chose to get the transport from Vilnius and were picked up at our hotel and drove about 45 minutes to get to the national park, which is home to about 20+ dogs. When we arrived, we met all the dogs, including some 5-week-old pointer puppies, and were then given two huskies to walk with. We wore waist belts and the dogs lead us on about a 3.5/4 mi hike around a lake. The terrain was mostly flat. We walked at a decent pace but I could tell the dogs would also happily run! When we got back, we were offering coffee and chocolate before getting a ride back to the city. We learned the area is also used for a children's summer camp. it was a bit buggy in the woods (early September), but otherwise a fantastic experience. Upon booking, the host immediately wrote to me to explain the confirmation process, and confirmed our trip based on the forecast two days prior.

So fun to walk the dogs, see the puppies and other bred dogs and the trail for walking was beautiful. Definitely book this tour, it is not too strenuous, I am 67, and the dogs were so friendly and appreciative!!! The owners were very nice and explained all about their dog breeding business and let me interact with the puppies!!

My boyfriend and I found this activity and were both so excited, as we are huge animal lovers. It did not disappoint!! The huskies we trekked with were well trained and had wonderful personalities. The trail is an easy, mostly flat, 5km walk through beautiful woods and along the river. It is so peaceful and quiet. We also got to meet a whole litter of one month old puppies! Highly Recommend to anyone who loves nature and animals. Tip: if you self drive a car with a higher clearance could be useful as the roads the last few KM are unpaved .
