Basilica Sagrado Corazon de Jesus
We will pass by the hospital area, then we encounter an University campus before we get into the story of our civil war and get to the basilica of Sagrado corazon de Jesus.

Dave and Javier were absolutely the best guides to experience El Salvador. Dave’s fun sense of humour combined with his deep knowledge made the entire tour incredibly engaging. We walked for about 3.5 hours, yet it honestly didn’t feel like it at all—I was so absorbed in the stories, history, and interesting facts he shared the whole time. This is one tour you should not miss if you’re in the country, because there are so many fascinating details you simply wouldn’t discover on your own. Javier was equally amazing—so kind and thoughtful that even after the tour ended, he took the time to give me great directions and recommendations for the best places to eat and shop.

Walk with Dave was an excellent introduction to San Salvador and El Salvador as a whole. Dave shared a great overview of the country’s history, culture, and the many changes El Salvador has experienced, along with helpful insights into the local food scene. He is incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, which made the tour both informative and enjoyable. This was probably the best guided tour I’ve ever done, thanks to David Mendez. He does a wonderful job explaining how life used to be in San Salvador prior to Bukele, and after. He is quite the comedian as well and we were grateful to get taken around all of the important sites in beautiful San Salvador.
