What To Expect
Gullfoss
Location: Make your way to Road 35 and find the upper parking area of Gullfoss Waterfall. Right there, you'll spot the 'Gullfoss - Panorama Restaurant - Cafe - Shop'. If you happen to park in the lower area, no worries! Just head back to the main road and take a right turn uphill. Meeting Time: Please be at the meeting point by 11:45 AM. Vehicles to Look for: Our transfer bus is located close to the Sleipnir meeting point sign at the parking lot close to the road of Gullfoss Cafe. During winter time, you will spot the big red Monster Glacier Truck.
Kjalvegur
Your adventure begins at Gullfoss, where you board the powerful Sleipnir Monster Glacier Truck for a journey into Iceland’s remote Highlands along Kjölur Highland road called "Kjalvegur" in Icelandic. This vast, uninhabited landscape is normally inaccessible in winter, with roads officially closed, but our specially modified vehicles make the journey possible and safe. As you settle into a comfortable seat, the excitement builds while panoramic windows reveal sweeping views of the rugged Highlands. Along the way, our knowledgeable guides share fascinating insights about glaciers, the forces that shaped the landscape, and stories from Icelandic folklore, making the drive as engaging as it is breathtaking. The drive to the glacier takes about 50 minutes, depending on snow conditions on the road.

5.00We were a bit unlucky with visibility as it was cloudy but it did not stop us from being amazed by the scenery. Total whiteness has its charms. The ice cave was impressive. The guides are fun, very careful with safety and they make sure to entertain you with history and geography facts and folklore stories. They give explanations and you can ask them questions about the glacier, the ice cave and much more. The truck was comfy, safe and heated, perfect trip. Many cool photo spots.

5.00The views are amazing and the tour guides and drivers are incredibly friendly! My family and I booked the tour last minute when we saw the red monster truck-looking van and this was definitely a lucky addition to our trip! The company is family run and the tour guides are knowledgeable, telling stories of Icelandic folklore. The second stop on the glacier tour also offers hot chocolate and sledding!

5.00We had the adventure of a lifetime with Sleipnir Walking on a glacier has been on my “life list” since I was a kid. So this was the perfect tour. Our guide and driver were informative, professional, and fun. They made this adventure even more wonderful than we expected. Riding on the monster truck through rivers and up the glacier on 4 feet of new snow had us all thrilled. The views were spectacular and unparalleled. We were fortunate to have excellent weather: clear skies. The truck stopped at many points allowing everyone to disembark and enjoy the pristine snow and photograph the views. It was amusing to watch the handful of young children play in the snow. Many of the adults joined,too. We were able to enter an ice cave wearing the provided crampons. Very cool!! Our guide, Erla, loves her job and sharing her knowledge of a lifetime on the glacier. Overall we highly recommend this company and tour. And absolutely we would do this trip again.
