From Kiruna, we’ll drive to Jukkasjärvi, one of the oldest villages in the region and an important historical center for the Sámi people. We’ll visit its beautiful wooden church, one of the oldest in northern Sweden, and learn about the traditions that have shaped life in the Arctic.
Next, we’ll visit a Sámi reindeer camp, where you’ll get the chance to feed the reindeer and listen to stories about the Sámi way of life, their deep connection with nature, and their ancestral culture.
We’ll end our day at the original Icehotel, the world’s first hotel made entirely of snow and ice. Every winter, artists from around the world create unique suites and sculptures — a true open-air art gallery that changes with every season.
An authentic Arctic experience that combines nature, culture, and art — all in one unforgettable tour.

The instant we got off the plane at Kiruna the clear clean air and the abundance of snow was a delight to experience. A short journey to the Ice Hotel where we had our 1st night in an Ice Art room, it was an experience, a comfortable nights sleep on the thick mattress and thick reindeer skins. We went walking along the frozen river the only sound to be heard was the crunching of the snow. We had the Snowmobile at night booked so we could chase the Northern Lights. It was the fabulous. I’ve never driven a Snowmobile but I loved it, we stopped halfway and had dinner and then resumed the journey. We did see the Northern Lights. The next day we went on the dog sledding experience, being pulled by these very strong, obedient friendly dogs was amazing. We ate Reindeer and Moose, definitely a first for me, both tasty. We had moved into the warm part of the hotel for our remaining 2 nights, with a wonderful view of the snow laden trees. The staff so friendly so helpful and very knowledgeable. We had drinks in the bar. Maybe a 10 minute walk down the road there was a Co op where we bought some snacky things. I cannot praise the Ice Hotel and our experiences highly enough. Before I went I was a little unsure if my stiff hip would be a problem but I was able to do it without any problems. I’m a young 71 and felt refreshed and invigorated, that cold dry air did wonders for me.

We would book this tour again anytime. A big thank you to Onur, our guide, who is very friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. He took excellent care of us and made the trip a unique experience. During the drive, Onur told us a lot about the history of Kiruna, stopped at several beautiful photo stops and explained the importance of the river to the locals. He also gave us interesting insights into Sami culture. The stop in the Sami village was something special for us: In the open-air museum we learned more about Sami culture and life, and while feeding reindeer we got up close to these fascinating animals. At the spectacular Ice Hotel we had enough time for an extensive exploration tour of the hotel, a visit to the Icebar including a slide (you should definitely have done it once 😊) as well as for many photos and the breathtaking view from the ice terrace over the frozen river. To top it off, we even saw moose on the way back. A perfect day, educational, entertaining and in a relaxed, warm atmosphere.

Fun packed tour and incredibly insightful into Sami culture too. Really beautiful photo stops along the way and learned about the importance of the River as well as history of Kiruna. Plenty of time to tour the Ice Hotel, learned of the history, construction and even had a go on the ice slide and a drink at the Ice bar. On the tour of the Sami village we learned all about the culture and the importance of the reindeer... incredibly insightful but also amazing to feed the reindeer too! Onur was a great guide - knowledgeable and friendly and very helpful - especially making sure we didn't slip on the Ice! This was really a great way to see these features and with transport in Kiruna tricky it made the experience so much more relaxed. Thank you!
