This is a must do trip if you want to experience the Athabasca Glacier. Our guides Conner and Tommy were a wealth of knowledge about the glaciers and their own anectodal adventures on the icefield. The hot tea was a plus and very appreciated.

Experience of a lifetime. The travel in Sherp, learning about the glacier, walking on the glacier and drinking its water (we didn’t though) are truly amazing. Do this rather than the ice explorer. I have seen one reviewer say, you can see the glacier from the highway and don’t waste time. I totally disagree Our tour guide was Chris from London, England. He was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and full of energy. Did a few 360 deg spins with the SHERP and put the spikes on everyone’s shoes. Spikes are an absolute must to walk on ice and the explorer trip doesn’t give that. Chris also showed us several mountain climbing equipment and let us try them. Very interesting. Plus, there are only 6 guest in a SHERP rather than 20 or 30 in the explorer vehicle. We were there before 10am for 11am booking and the parking lot was quite empty but by the time we returned from the glacier at 1pm, it was full

This was part of a Vacations by Rail Tour. We had a great time and it was not cold that day! Also a lot to see and learn at the visitor's center

Our tour guide Tony and driver Cass were amazing! Had a great time. Very unique experience. Was especially great to be in a small group (there were 9 of us) and able to get to a separate area of the glacier than where they take the bigger busses full of people. You get a very individualized experience.

Being on the glacier and away from the crowds was an unforgettable experience. Tommy, our guide, was very informative, funny, and friendly in a way that made us all feel comfortable. I highly recommend this trip.

Great experience. Smaller group and we went to an area that was only our group and not crowded. Tommy was great. I would recommend.

Such a fascinating trip and the two hosts, Tommy and Conor, were just lovely and accommodating! We were very lucky that it was just us and another couple, so just four of us and the drive in the big, all terrain beast of a machine was an experience within itself, but actually standing on and exploring the glacier, well let’s just say a bucket list item I didn’t know I had!! We stayed at the lodge the night before and did this trip first thing and I’d definitely recommend the “full glacier lodge” package (with the “Skywalk” the night before). Definitely a “must do” if you’re in the area 👍🏻
