  It was more a party bus than a relaxing walk on the sea. Certainly not for children - full people quite quickly. Happy hour filled the atmosphere. Funny - but slightly different from the way it was described.

  This is the second year in a row you've been on this trip. Last year it went great, so we naturally chose the same provider. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the team very helpful.   The catamaran trip to Ilot Plat and Ilot Gabriel was wonderful. The sea was quite rough with high waves, but the good-humored, confident and very experienced crew made sure that we felt safe at all times. The crew took very good care of seasick participants. In general, the crew was very attentive and Tool good care of us. The snorkeling experience on the islands was great. We saw a Lot of species that we had not Seen on the beaches around Mauritius so far. The procedure was as follows in our case: Trip to Ilot Gabriel Approx. 1.5 h stay at Ilot Gabriel Lunch (very tasty and varied) Approx. 1h stay at Ilot Plat Drive to Gunner's Coin Approx. 20 min snorkeling off the cliffs Return journey We would recommend taking a rain jacket with you, as you may get a shower or two on the boat in heavy swell. It can also get cold after snorkeling in your wet swimsuit on the return trip if you don't have the best weather

  The trip out to & back from Gabriel Island was most enjoyable. The wind and ocean conditions were exhilarating and good fun. Got a little wet but not too much. Saw many flying fish which was good to see. The snorkelling was good, and it was great to see some turtles. Personally though, I feel that the damage to the coral is a cause for some concern. The crew were attentive and contributed to an enjoyable experience.

  My wife and I took this trip today. Departure is 9.00 from the Marina in Grand Baie and return by 16.00. The journey of 2 hours was comfortable and interesting, with a great, newish boat and drinks available all the way (and back). Having been on many of these cruises before, especially from Bali, Indonesia, this is where the comparison ends. Gabriel Island has nothing but a sandy beach on the edge of a nature reserve. There are no toilets to be seen, nowhere to buy drinks or snacks. Nothing! And, if it rains, which it did today, there is nowhere to seek cover. We were all drenched in a rain storm. There is no jetty on which to disembark. Transfer to and from the island's beach is by way of little rubber dinghies. Getting on and off these dinghies on the beach is precarious, especially for older people. The barbecue is held on the boat and is ready for the return trip, rather than on the beach! Unless you simply like a trip on the sea in a catamaran for over 8 hours, this service is a waste of time and money. While some of the staff were helpful, others were very condescending and impatient to elderly customers.

  Date: 23 Oct 2023 Timing: 8am-4pm. Contact Person: Marcel This was an amazing experience for me. Booking and Payment: I booked through tripadvisor only by making full payment which was refundable till 24hrs of the actual date and got the confirmed ticket in my email id within 48 hrs. There is no additional/surprising charges there after. The ticket has the contact person details, please keep it handy in case you are late to reach the spot. Start Timing and Location: For this one when I booked the start time 8am which was little early for me. But it's is good in other way. As this boat leaves early than others, you get little more chance in the beach. All other bots were yet to arrive in flat island. Please note that they try to adhere witht he start time but in case you are few minutes late please let them know so that they are informed and can wait. I was 10 minute late to reach there. after me a group of 8 people reached. so we started around 8:20am from the grand baie beach. Grand baie beach does not have much parking spaces, in caseyou have rented car, ensure to have more 5 minutes to find a parking spot in this beach. Journey details: It was a medium size catamaran with a small washroom. the deck had enough space.we were around 25 people along with 3 crew. at the very start, in beach they have a small basket to take off shoes/slippers. then they will take you to the catamarn by a small boat. On the boat, everyone will be barefoot to keep it clean. The whole boat itself was very clean. Marcel, explained the whole travel plan in both french and english. we started and sailed around 2hours in open ocean passing by a big rock/island like structure which also looks very beautiful. then around 11am we reached flat island. were again taken to the beach of the island through a small boat. we were given around 90 minutes there on the beach. you can do swimming/photography/snorkelling/roam around at the beach whatever you prefer. the view is just awesome. then around 12:30pm we were taken back to catamaran for lunch. In the mean time they have prepared lunch on the catamaran itself.then around 1pm we were taken to gabriel island beach and given 1 hour time there. the flat island and gabriel island is just 7-8 minutes apart. they dock the catamaran in between both of the island and uses small boat to reach both island beaches. after one hour we came back to the catamaran. then around 2:30pm they started our return journey. again we sailed through open sea. The big rocky island what we passed by earlier, they took a halt there for 30 minutes. It was a nice place for snorkelling. Those who can swim went for snorkelling here. Then we headed back for grand baie beach and reached around 4:30pm. Food and amenities: St the start of the journey, when we get into catamaran, you are offered tea/coffee/drinks/cookies. in the middle of the journey as well they serve cookies/drinks (both alchoholic/non-alchoholic). then luch is prepared by a BBQ grill. The food was good. it has grilled fish/chicken/Paneer and 2-3 types of salads, one dry sweet and of course drinks. The drinks, you can ask them any time, it's unlimited. They have a small wash room with a small basin. It's smaller than the washroom of the flight. And it's does not have normal flush, there is a hand pump just beside, You need to pump it 4-5 times which works as flushing it. Overall Experience: It was a very nice experience. The crews are very friendly and helpful. They took good care of everyone. And don't forget your sunscreen by any means :-) and carry a towel and extra set of clothes just as a backup. And carry your own snorkelling gear. In this package, they don't provide it however they have life jackets if required.
