What To Expect
Burana Tower
In the morning we're setting off for our voyage to Issyk Kul lake (230km). On the way, we're stopping at the UNESCO World Heritage site Burana Tower. This ancient structure dates back to the 11th century so it’s really worth your visit. We'll spend about 30 minutes here contemplating splendid views from the top of the tower, walking around to see the balbals (ancient stones with depictions) and visiting the archaeology museum with antique artifacts. Resuming our way to Issyk Kul.
Upon arrival in Cholpon Ata (central town of the lake’s northern coast) we're having lunch at a restaurant. Now it’s time for the cherry on a cake - a stunning ship ride out on the lake. After roaming 4km away the ship will stop at the depth of 120 meters. In the hot season (May-September) you can dive into the water and enjoy a surreal swim (life jackets provided). In the other seasons you will have no less beautiful time on the ship.

5.00It was wonderful experience for me and my son. Baiel and Aba were very friendly and reliable. Baiel has a lot of knowledge as a tour guide and Aba knows the road very well to avoid heavy traffic jams.

5.00Was not expecting Burana Tower to be so fascinating, but it was! Our guide, Baiel was very knowledgeable and helpful. Driving to the lake was through beautiful scenery, and swimming in the lake is a must! Be prepared for a long day but the car was very comfortable and the driver was safe. Lunch was very tasty.

5.00Trust the title of being indeed an immensely and breathtaking trip. We went to Burana tower in the early morning which is wisely planned as there was a long line of queue trying to get up the tower when we about to leave. The boat ride allowed us to get a view of Tien shan mountains from the turquoise lake,issky kul lake. I regretted I didn't bring my swim suit and missed the once in a lifetime experience of swimming while looking at Tien shan mountain. I was worried the water would be too cold but apparently it's above 15C. Overall,the ride was very comfy. Driver Mr Ray is an experienced driver and the guide Mr Bek is a cheerful and helpful chap who speaks perfect English.

5.00We had a fantastic experience with Ventura Travels on our-day trip to Burana Tower and Issyk Kul Lake. Ash, the owner, was responsive and helpful with my queries leading up to the booking. Baiel, our guide, was excellent - he had great energy, entertained us, and provided wonderful recommendations for local dishes. He was also a fantastic conversationalist, and I highly recommend requesting him as your guide. Ady, our driver, was patient and calm, and the car provided by Ventura Travels was very comfortable. Overall, it was a memorable excursion, and I highly recommend Ventura Travels to anyone visiting Kyrgyzstan.
