What To Expect
Insadong
This traditional tour takes you on a three hour traditional Korean alcohol tasting spree where you will visit three different makgeolli bars, each with their own unique style. We begin with a place famous for its wide range of makgeolli sourced from around the country, set in a cozy hanok (a Korean traditional house). After sampling a few bottles of what can be found on the market paired with some quintessential Korean pancakes, we head to a secret location unfamiliar even to locals. Here we sample some handcrafted makgeolli, straight from the hands of the brewer herself. Once we have had our fill of his delicious brew and some home-cooked dishes, we walk on to our final destination. We pull up stools at a dimly lit bar with tin kettles filled with makgeolli and experience the revelry of tavern style drinking.
What‘s Included
We will taste a variety of makgeolli from commercially available to hand-crafted by local artisans. Each makgeolli will be paired with classic dishes such as Korean pancakes and steamed pork belly.
At each stop on the tour we will be tasting different kinds of Korean 'anjou' or food that is paired with drinks.

5.00When I ask my family what their favorite activity was, without any hesitation, they said the alcohol dining experience. Inji was super informative and we felt like we learned so much about the drinking and drink making culture in Korea. The bar/restaurant we did our tasting at was also a really fascinating place, it was like going back in time. Again, huge shoutout to Inji! 10/10 experience and will definitely recommend to our friends and family!
