Manak's House (Manakova kuca)
We start in front of the oldest building in the neighborhood. Its oriental shape and facade is a rare trace of how Belgrade looked like until the mid 19th century. And its function was telling of the spirit and the future of the Savamala quarter.
We get inside the hidden yard that is full with street art, made by local and international artists. Here we understand Savamala in 2000ies. How the local creatives revived the quarter that was neglected in the second half of 20th century. Strolling the street further, we face the grandiose building of Belgrade Cooperative from 1907. A different view and a different story opens up for us.

I signed up some friends from abroad and decided to join myself. I'm glad I did! So many stories I didn't know, seeing Belgrade and Savamala with fresh eyes. A most sincere recommendation!

I was amazed to see so much inside just one quarter. If I have to pick a name for it I would say: Fascinating Contrasts! Unique to Belgrade, Savamala is the hype place to be in, and Xenia was the right guide to explore it with. From palaces to alleys, it's a fantastic mishmash that stuck with me for days after the tour.

I had friends wine lovers visiting from Norway. As I know that Walking Belgrade has good taste in wine, I decided to book them to show Belgrade's trendy Savamala neighborhood to my friends. It turned out to be a great experience for me as well! The Norwegians were impressed with the buzz of Savamala and its clubs, restaurants and street art. And I was impressed with all the old architecture and history, that I have not noticed nor understood before!
