We had a wonderful night at the cozy cabin. The bannock and chowder were delicious, and Tracy’s stories about the Indigenous people of the region made the evening even more special. Best of all, the aurora came out in full, dancing across the sky — and since it wasn’t too cold, we could comfortably enjoy the show outside. A perfect experience I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Yellowknife.

The cozy cabin experience was excellent the host prepared, great fish, chowder, and bread with hot chocolate, and most importantly, provided expensive fur coats to keep warm and look fashionable

This is an A+ experience all the way. Tracy, the guide, is such a vibrant and interesting person to start with. She got our whole group talking, and we learned so many interesting things about the Northwest Territories and beyond. She and the pleasant young driver (sorry, I'm forgetting his name) brought us to the most charming cabin ever, which she has filled with vintage teapots and other artifacts as well as fur coats and hats, salvaged from thrift shops. She told us about having seen a lynx(!) in front of the cabin not too long ago, which seemed fitting for such a magical place. Then she served us the best fish and vegetable chowder I've ever tasted and some bannock bread, like a big scone, with high quality preserves. The whole night was so enchanting that I didn't even feel disappointed that the lights had failed to break through the thick cloud cover that night.

Even though we only had a couple of hours of clear sky, we captured lots of Aurora images. The tour operated also photographed us and sent us the pictures. Having the chowder and bannock helped to keep us toasty. Tracey was so accommodating and had lots of local lore to share with us.
