After breakfast, you'll head from Accra to Cape Coast, stopping first at Independence Square to see the iconic Flame of African Liberation — lit by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1961 — then at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, his final resting place, where a museum chronicles his life and legacy. Arriving in Cape Coast for lunch, the afternoon brings a deeply moving visit to Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you'll tour the historic slave dungeons and the haunting "Door of No Return." Kakum National Park
After breakfast, you'll head to Kakum National Park, one of Ghana's top natural attractions. A guided forest floor walk offers the chance to spot birds, butterflies, monkeys, and possibly the rare forest elephant. The highlight is Africa's only aerial canopy walkway — a 1,000-foot suspension bridge system spanning seven bridges and rising over 150 feet above the rainforest floor, delivering stunning treetop views. As an optional add-on, you can visit Global Mamas, a social enterprise empowering African women, where you'll participate in a hands-on tie-dye workshop and create your own souvenir cloth to take home.
