Gothic Quarter
What sets this tour apart, earning it over 2,500 glowing five-star reviews on other platforms, is that it goes beyond mere sightseeing. It's about immersing yourself in the vibrant culture of Barcelona and Catalonia. We don't offer a cookie-cutter itinerary; instead, we tailor each tour based on your interests, the time of year, day of the week, and even the weather.
Edifici de Correus
Our Meeting Point is Edifici de Correus | Most people walk past this building without a second glance – but it’s a beauty hiding in plain sight. Built in the early 20th century, the Edifici de Correus (Old Town Post Office) is a fine example of Spanish eclectic architecture, mixing classical columns with ornate sculptural details. It was designed to impress, and it still does, especially once you notice the carved eagles, symbolic crests, and grand staircases. The four massive columns on the eastern façade mark the perfect meeting point – calm, central, and easy to spot. While it’s still a functioning post office, for us it’s also a symbolic gateway: this is where the tour begins, where we step out of the present and into 2,000 years of Barcelona’s past. It’s the first of many buildings that has more to say than meets the eye.

Armando was a fabulous guide. His English was excellent as was his knowledge and passion for the history of Barcelona. The tour was a great balance of history, culture and food of the Gothic area. Highly recommend as an excellent way to get a sense of the city and help prioritise what you want to see in a limited stay in Barcelona.

Fun, interesting, engaging tour with Matt. He’s a great communicator, knows Barcelona and Spain incredibly well, and includes everyone on the tour. The old city is fascinating and beautiful, and Matt gives a great introduction with lots of suggestions of where to go next. He answered everyone’s questions about life here. The tour was the perfect length and well paced. Would definitely do another tour with him.

I just concluded a fantastic tour, of the Old Town Gothic Quarter with Matt our tour guide. Matt is the ultimate tour guide who is extremely knowledgeable but also passionate about the history he interactively shares. He weaves the stories with funny antidotes that made the tour very interesting but also very enjoyable. As we continued on with our tour, I couldn’t wait for the next story because Matt was a master at telling the story but also of asking the participants questions to increase our awareness and knowledge. When I finished, I felt very fortunate that I made the decision to book the tour with Matt which I based on previous reviews. I highly recommend Matt’s tour and I hope that my review encourages you to also book a tour with him. I’m sure that you will be as satisfied and pleased as I am. Ernest LeBlanc

This tour was an amazing introduction to Barcelona! We learned so much about Barcelona’s history and I have a better context for understanding its culture. Matt was very knowledgeable, friendly, and a great storyteller. It was a small group, was very interactive, and felt very personalized. Our 14 year old daughter really enjoyed the tour as well.

Domi our guide was super knowledgeable, approachable, and friendly. It really helped to orient around Barcelona’s history and the city itself despite being only in the gothic quarter.

This was the Most interesting tour I think I’ve ever taken.. with the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Matt was incredible… friendly and had perfect English and had a wealth of knowledge… He left no stones unturned informationally and the interesting facts and stories were endless. This tour was especially interesting because it was about (the old walled city) and walls discovered and much much more. Meant to get his card and information to store so I don’t forget when I give referrals. Thanks again Matt for all of the great historical walk.

Matt was an outstanding guide through the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. Super knowledgeable on the history, with a really balanced and thoughtful perspective on the regions and culture of Spain. He’s also a fantastic storyteller who kept the whole tour engaging and fun. The bonus was all the excellent local recommendations for coffee bars, tapas spots and restaurants — several of which became highlights of our stay. Highly recommend!

We had the most incredible tour today in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona! Our guide, a wonderful and knowledgeable woman, gave us the best experience. She took us through so many highlights, from the ancient Roman ruins to Picasso’s art school, and we learned so many fascinating facts we never knew. The area is packed with history and beauty, and she made every corner come to life. On top of that, she was so helpful, she even jumped in to assist me with my stroller and my son. She was truly a team player, and we couldn’t have asked for a better time. We absolutely recommend booking this tour, she was fantastic!

This tour is a wonderful introduction to the city, and covers a very diverse historical time. Our guide, Jana, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. It’s clear she has a master’s degree because she helped us learn so much we otherwise would not have known. You should definitely book this tour.
