What To Expect
Awaken your senses with aromatic Greek coffee that is roasted at that time and homemade traditional Bougatsa, a unique recipe over 40 years old that makes it a trademark of the city. Then, a walk from the historic center will show us all the secrets of old folk art, as when merchants from Europe and Asia, came to procure the unique silverware. As the smells captivate you, you will be found at a small grocery to taste local cheeses, cold cuts and wine from a family that has been producing them for 4 generations. Along the way we will get in the castle and visit a tavern to cook a traditional pie, we will taste tsipouro and wine and we will learn the history of the castle. While your host will share stories of past decades, you just allow yourself to live everyday life like a local, walking calmly through the streets, the castle and island alleys. Indulge and explore traditional recipes, enjoy delicious bites in traditional taverns and complete this unique experience with the famous syrup sweets by learning their secrets from the specialists. Get ready for unique experiences, full of flavors and aromas and dive into the history of centuries, full of legends and traditions.

5.00What an amazing way to spend a morning getting to known a city through traditional coffee, cheese and “ bougatsa” shops topped off by a cooking demonstration for a traditional cheese pie and then - lunch! Highly recommend this easily paced tour led by the passionate and knowledgeable owner Georgos - a young owner operated operation who deserves full praise for his entrepreneurship! MUST DO IOANINNA.

5.00just now New We feel so fortunate to have spent an incredible day together with our host George in beautiful Ioannina. George was beyond amazing and set up the most wonderful guided food tour of the city. His deep passion and knowledge for his home town was so insightful and his personal and unique selections for authentic/ local eateries with the most delicious cuisine were divine. We especially loved our cheese tasting at Eleftheria and our spinach pie demonstration and traditional lunch at Paris Resturant -Arte Povera . In addition George selected our guide for our hikes in Zagoria which were beyond breathtaking . We were so impressed with George’s attention to detail and his love for his work that we recommend him in the highest regard and would love to work with him again! Anyone coming to ioannina MUST spend a day with George to truly capture the most of the city and have an authentic, fun, perfect day!!! You will be sad to say goodbye to Ioannina and George!!!

5.00It was a nice and tasty walk both inside and outside the castle walls. George told a lot about Ioannina history, politics, living-style and food. I've tasted local products and dishes and had a lot of fun and learning. Local cheeses are great and coffee is tender and creamy.
Epirus Adventures is more than an adventure. It is an experience.

5.00I booked my entire three week trip to Greece through Georgio, Epirus Adventures. Georgio took us on this food tour to places he has frequented since childhood. It was wonderful to visit places that the locals go to and experience the local cuisine and culture.

5.00Epirus Adventures made our trip to Ioanina one to remember! George is a knowledgeable, warm, welcoming, and humorous tour guide! We are so lucky that we found George through a long, confusing Google search. Ioanina is a gorgeous city, but it can be tricky to navigate on your own. And that is why George is a diamond in the rough. He has made close connections with the different artisans and cooks that you will meet on the tour, and for that you will feel fully immersed in the beautiful culture and history of the city. We were so full by the end of the tour and even had leftovers to take home with us. The food stops are incredible, simple, and fresh. The streets you walk along are picturesque. And the company is lively and friendly - you feel like you are being introduced to family. You can't get this experience anywhere else. I guarantee it.
