This was a great day out. We had a private driver & guide who accompanied us & made sure it all ran smoothly. He picked us up from our hotel & we drove through the mountains to the coast to catch a quick speed boat just for us across to the island where we visited caves, climbed to a viewpoint, walked the sandy beaches & paddled in the sea. After an excellent lunch which was included in the trip we headed back to the mainland for a quick look around The old city of Morretes before catching the famous Serra Verde Express train ( of race across the world fame) for a scenic ride back through the mountains to Curitiba. We were in a boutique carriage with great views, an open balcony, comfy chairs, a bilingual guide who warned us when the views were coming up & a free open bar for beers & soft drinks with snacks all provided. Great value for money & friendly Brazilians to smooth the way. Thank you to Alexander our guide.
