This is a hard review to write because we did like Dennison. We just did not receive the tour we had booked and paid for. "Island Tour with Coffee Breaks" Looking at his current ad on TripAdvisor he has changed the wording. When we booked this tour we believed from the wording it was a private tour. A couple days before the tour I started receiving text messages informing us that two other persons on of tour had booked an all inclusive (food and drinks) tour and offering us the option of upgrading. And referencing the Hummingbird Palace and we would have to pay more to feed them. The text stated it would be $50 more per person. We had already paid $120 per person. We did not want food and drinks and were not comfortable being asked to pay more. I texted my dislike in waiting for others who would be stopping to eat and was assured I would still receive the tour I booked. We considered cancelling our reservation but it was past the time for cancellation on TripAdvisor. This was the first time we had been to this port and we were concerned if we cancelled we would not be able to find another option in the cruise port and we really wanted to see the island. Finding Dennison was very easy per his instructions when we got into port. We waited a few minutes for the other people that had booked the all inclusive tour. When they arrived at the van they were confused as they also had believed they had booked a private tour. When they questioned Dennison he called his daughter and she said - "the ad says private tour but it is not". But like us they had booked thru TripAdvisor and wanted to see the island. We had a hard time fully understanding Dennison but were making it work. The itinerary that is posted on TripAdvisor is not what our tour was. "Argyle Waterfall 45 minutes -You have a choice whether you want to bathe in this waterfall which is situated in Roxborough Tobago." - he pointed up a street and said the waterfall is up that road. We never went to a waterfall. "Pigeon Point Beach - 15 minutes" "Englishman's Bay, Tobago - 40 minutes" - the only beach we stopped at that we had time at and was able to get in the water was because I complained that we were sitting in a cliff top bar while the other couple ate the lunch he had picked up two stops earlier. After I complained he drove us down to the beach. I think it was Dennison Beach - he joked that it was his beach. It wasn't really a beach to swim at. The fisherman were cleaning their catch and the stingray were there to feed on the cuttings. It was neat to see but not really the beach we anticipated. Nothing on the tour itinerary stated Hummingbird Palace - only the text I received two days before the tour. We stopped there and had to pay $14 per person to feed the Hummingbirds. The other couple did not have to pay but had no idea we were stoping there. It was neat to feed the hummingbirds but definitely not the tour we booked. And it was not right that we had to pay when our tour said several entrance fees were included and we did not go to those locations. As I stated Dennison was very nice but before you book with him make sure you clarify everything so you know exactly what you are getting. We definitely did not get the tour we expected. Note we did not receive Coffee - I guess when they say Coffee Break in Tobago they mean beer or other drink. Would have been nice if that was clearer. He has since dropped Coffee Break from the description.

This small group tour allowed us to see MUCH of the island vs a single stop on the cruise tours. We were picked up at Port in a small 9 passenger van (with good AC!) a cooler full of water and juices and Dennison and Mya. Our first stop was to try a ‘double’ - chickpea blend with some pepper sauce in a roti- yummy. Then proceeded to go so many places, I can’t even list them all. We saw at least five different beaches from different vantage points, including ground level where you could step out into the waves if you wished. We had so many places to take amazing pictures and they spent lots of time filling us in on what we were seeing. As we drove around the island, they told us what each town was known for, pointed out all the most recent investments in the infrastructure here, including new airports, schools, police departments, etc.. They did also spend some time on the local political system. They are open to answering any questions that you have We did stop in to check out the goat races, and did you know that they also raised bluestone crabs too? I’ve never even heard of such thing. It was quite funny and a good time to visit the goats and watch them race. Just bring some small bills to tip, either USD or local. We made our way over to the rainforest as well and did a bit of a driving tour there. Once exiting the rainforest, we stopped at a little stand that allow us to feed hummingbirds from our hand. Bring $10 USD per person for this stop. Dennison has a favorite beach over at pigeon point, he has renamed the beach, his own, lol. We had a coffee shop here, but most people ordered a Carib beer. The snacks in the beer are all part of your ticket price If Dennison sees something interesting along the road like a Cocoa or some type of fruit, count on him, stopping to see if he can get a neighbors permission, which they always granted it so he could teach us something about the local Flora We stopped at the main tourist destinations as well, including crown point and the mystery tomb He gave us some options for lunch, either we could’ve sat down at a restaurant for over an hour, but we all opted instead to stop at a beach and select one of the vendors. We had a chicken stew that included rice and pink beans and it was absolutely fabulous. If you get the chance to do this, just tell them you want the shorter stop! Our tour was about six hours long but yours can be longer or shorter depending on your schedule. Our ship was leaving early as our next day was a sea day and we were going to French Guiana where there is no airport so we needed to be on time. Dennison was very sensitive to the cruise port schedule, which was much appreciated. There is a list of places to be visited in the Viator booking, but depending on who all is in your group or how many seats they sell, your group will have to work together to determine the things they would like to see. We did not end up hiking out to any of the waterfalls, it’s been quite dry and there wasn’t much to see but also the hikes out there are pretty long so if that’s something you want to do, you might want to work with them directly to make sure you pick a time where you can see those things and if it’s appropriate We had a great day and we would highly recommend this tour

Dennison and Aliya provided us with a friendly, interesting, flexible tour of their home island! We thoroughly enjoyed the day, and appreciated Dennison giving us the opportunity to taste some of the food that islanders enjoy. I can honestly say that I never expected to see goat racing and crab racing! What fun! We highly recommend Dennison’s Tourguiding Service in Tobago!

The company and guide were very accommodating, changing the ending point of the tour to suit my programme. The lady from the office called on my day of arrival to check I had been picked up on time from the airport. The guide was kind and very professional. I enjoyed the long island tour around the entirety of Tobago. He even suggested a stop at a humming bird sanctuary which turned out to be my favourite part of the day.

We experienced an amazing all day tour with Dennison. This tour encompassed sights around the island. It included a history, cultural and food tour that made our day extremely enjoyable. Dennison is a very knowledgeable person who went out of his way to ensure we had the opportunity to try many different types of local food and snacks throughout the day including ones we requested. He is a very jovial and super friendly person who we got to know better when we stopped for coffee. His driving skills are exceptional and ensured at all times we and our equipment was safe. The van was clean, spacious and equipped for our comfort with a cooler with cold drinks. If you want to experience Tobago like a local, we highly recommend Dennison to be your tour guide. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Thanks again for being the best ambassador for Tobago.

If you want to experience the real Tobago then this is the tour for you. We went on the all inclusive tour with Dennison. He is a great guide and takes the time to understand what you want from your tour. He never rushes you and lets you do things at your own pace. The tour includes plenty of food and drink stops. We had only been on the bus 5 minutes before the first food stop for doubles (a type of filled Roti) a local tasty snack which we had for breakfast. That was followed shortly after by Wendys pies which are delicious. He provides water, drinks including beer and coconut water (which he makes himself) from a cold box Throughout the tour he was constantly telling us about the wildlife and plants on the island of which there are many. He knows all there is to know about the island especially about the fruits and where to get them. We had some of sapodilla, guava and chenet. He took us to places that were off the beaten track and showed us all the best scenery most of which is breathtaking. He surprises you all day. From showing us the sting rays in one of the secluded fishing spots to the walk-through woodland to a hidden waterfall which was beautiful, and we were the only ones there. The water is crystal clear and great for a refreshing swim. However, the highlight of our day was la visit to Auntie Shurl’s bird heaven. We had a freshly cooked fish lunch which was great and then got to feed the hummingbirds. What a fantastic experience. It is a must do if you visit Tobago. Dennison is the best guide you could wish for. Always asking if you want a drink a stop or anything else. We would highly recommend this experience
