Burana Tower and Konorchek Canyon
The Burana Tower is an 11th-century minaret near Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan, once part of the ancient Silk Road city Balasagun. Originally 45 meters tall, it now stands at 25 meters due to earthquake damage. In 2014, it was inscribed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Silk Roads: the Routes Network of Chang’an–Tianshan Corridor," recognizing its historical and cultural significance. The site also includes ancient mausoleums, balbals (stone grave markers), and city ruins.
Konorchek Canyons
The Konorchek Canyons are striking red sandstone formations located in the Boom Gorge of Kyrgyzstan, about 125 km from Bishkek. Known for their dramatic cliffs, narrow passages, and unique shapes, they are often called “Kyrgyzstan’s Grand Canyon.” The area is popular for hiking and photography, offering stunning views shaped by millions of years of wind and water erosion.

We just finished an incredible 4-day tour through Kyrgyzstan, and it wouldn’t have been the same without our guide, Farukh. From start to finish, he went above and beyond in every possible way. Farukh was not only extremely knowledgeable about the country, its history, and culture, but also genuinely one of the kindest people we’ve ever met. He made us feel comfortable, safe, and welcomed at all times. Every detail was handled perfectly – from navigating remote mountain roads to recommending authentic local food spots and hidden gems we would’ve never discovered on our own. What stood out most was how much Farukh truly cared. He was patient, thoughtful, and always attentive to what we needed. He made the entire experience smooth, stress-free, and unforgettable. If you’re considering a trip to Kyrgyzstan, we couldn’t recommend Farukh highly enough. You’ll get more than just a guide – you’ll get someone who treats you like a friend and ensures you fall in love with this beautiful country.
