If I could give this tour more than 5 stars, I would. I booked the Fener-Balat Historical Walking Tour, and even though I was the only person who booked that day, Kadir still ran the tour just for me. It felt like walking through history with a knowledgeable friend rather than a formal guide. The neighborhoods themselves are stunning—full of vibrant colors, hidden gems, and deep history—but Kadir made the day truly special. Beyond the tour, he went completely above and beyond when I ran into a major issue with my phone. Having no internet in a foreign city was a huge problem for me, and Kadir didn't hesitate to help. He spent his own time at the SIM card shop, translating everything and making sure my data was working before we moved on. He is kind, professional, and clearly passionate about Istanbul. If you’re looking for a tour that is beautiful, interesting, and led by someone with a heart of gold, book with Kadir. You won’t regret it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Exploring Fener and Balat was an absolute highlight of my trip to Istanbul. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to help with questions. Walking through the colorful houses and charming narrow streets felt like stepping into a living postcard. The area is also deeply important for Christian history, with beautiful and meaningful churches that add so much depth to the experience. Everything about the tour was fascinating and authentic. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Istanbul. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

My 16 year-old son and I had a great time seeing Fener-Balat for the first time with our tour guide, Kadir. He was very knowledgeable about the area and patiently guided us up and down the hills and into new neighborhoods. We even got a chance to experience a local bazaar that just happened to be going on during our visit. Would highly recommend the tour!!

Excellent experience! Kadir was warm and welcoming and tailored everything to my needs. He communicated clearly before the tour so I would know where to meet and what to expect. He even helped me with the tram so I would get back to my hotel safely after the tour. He is very knowledgeable about the sites and history of the colorful houses, orthodox churches and neighborhood in general. He allowed plenty of time for questions and photos. Fener Balat is pretty well known for antique shops and he had no issue with me stopping to look at anything. In fact, he encouraged it stating souvenirs were cheaper in this area. Keep in mind this is a relaxed tour, but it is a walking tour and there are steep cobblestone hills to climb. You will be getting your exercise.

This walking tour of Fener and Balat was the highlight of my Istanbul trip! Our guide (Kadir) was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing deep historical insights about the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate and the colorful Phanar Greek Orthodox College. The stroll through the narrow, colorful streets offered amazing photo opportunities that you just can't find in Sultanahmet. It felt authentic and away from the usual tourist traps. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see the 'real' soul of Istanbul!

Walking through Fener and Balat felt like stepping back in time. Our guide(Kadir) explained the complex history of the Greek and Jewish heritage so clearly. The visit to the Orthodox Patriarchate was deeply moving. It’s a side of Istanbul every history buff needs to see!!
