We visited Doris' house. Doris' stories were very interesting and brought a different perspective on the Jaffa we know. It was interesting and fun! I recommend coming and visiting!

I went to Dorris's home on a tour offered by the Tel Aviv municipality. She served us coffee from her family's special blend and one of the best baklawas I ever tasted. But the best part was her stories about her own life, about the demographics of Jaffa and the challenges of starting her own business as a Christian Arab woman. She told all these in a very lively manner, with a theatrical touch. I would definitely recommend a visit to her home.

Doris Hifawi is a member of a Christian Arab family, making her a double minority. Her family has been making coffee for generations. The cardamon coffee is quite unique. Doris generously shares her Arab coffee and delicacies with guests. Doris tells stories about life in Jaffa, from days gone by. She invites guests into her home to be illustrate her life in a mixed city. Doris is a lively and entertaining raconteur,

Doris was a Charing host that let us see her life and history. As people who were also a minority, my family and I related to much or her life. We also were able to better understand the complexities of living in Israel and learned a lot. I recommend Doris's coffee hosting to any who wants to understand the complex social factors that obtain in Israel.

I took a group of students from an American university and they loved the experience--it was one of their favorite activities in the several weeks we spent in Tel Aviv-Jaffa. Doris has tremendous energy and is a wonderful storyteller. We loved the personal elements (as well as the coffee).

We were a group of 10 walking Ajami neighborhood in Jaffa. We ended up in Doris' beautiful house. She is a gifted story teller. For almost 2 hours we listened to her story of growing up in a Christian family in Jaffa. Highly recommend. The hospitality and coffee are also great!

We spent a lovely, cosy couple of hours (we gained extra time being the last group of the day) with the lovely, vivacious Doris. She entertained us with cultural information about the Arab communities in Jaffa (mainly Christian), her own life, and treated us to her family's very own brand of coffee (Antoine) and baklava. She provided plenty of information and laughs, and I personally was deliged to be in an Arab home in Jaffa! Don't miss it.

In the middle of Jaffa as a guest of Doris, the coffee is self-roasted. Good stories and interesting insights into a life in the tension between traditional and modern culture with Arab, Israeli and Christian identity.
