Jägala waterfall is the biggest natural waterfall in Estonia. It’s only 30 minute drive away from Tallinn city center. Therefore, it’s also one of the most popular attractions for the locals. The waterfall looks majestic in every season, however in winter time it offers a truly spectacular view. The gleaming ice wall and sparkling icicles will make you feel like you’re in a beautiful winter wonderland and the Snow Queen Elsa should be popping out from somewhere anytime. We will also see a mystical limestone cliff and search for millions of years old fossils.
After taking tons of photos of the waterfall we will have a picnic. To keep warm we’ll taste local Estonian schnapps and drink hot tea and try some traditional Estonian flavors. The whole tour takes no more than two hours, so you have plenty of time to do some sightseeing in Tallinn after the tour for the rest of the day.

NB: The waterfall is frozen only during the winter season, usually DEC-MAR! The lovely Jägala waterfall is only 30 minutes away from Tallinn. Visiting the spectacular waterfall in winter time is a truly amazing experience. Often in winter times the temperatures drop to freezing and the waterfall turns into a gleaming ice wall. During this time the biggest natural waterfall of Estonia offers breath-taking views with its large icicles. Sometimes it’s even possible to walk behind the wall of ice. Of course, the waterfall is no less captivating in other seasons! After enjoying the picturesque sight we have a cosy winter picnic with home-made snacks with local flavors. Tasting Estonian schnapps and hot tea will keep you warm. The tour takes no more than two hours, so you have plenty of time to take part in our other awesome tours.

Highly recommend this experience. The natural beauty of Jagala Waterfalls is unforgettable the serenity and sound of the waterfall is so calming. Our guide Meriliis was so friendly and informative not only about the Waterfalls but Estonia in general. Meriliis provided a beautiful picnic lunch of Estonian favourites, everything was beautiful and local produce we wouldn't have experienced without such thoughtfulness of Meriliis. Thankyou for a wonderful experience Meriliis, we would highly recommend your tour. tänan teid

The waterfall hadn't yet frozen when we saw it but it is wonderful to see it in full flow. The colour of the water is amazing. Our guide, Keidi, was very friendly and gave us lots of information about the waterfall and the area. We enjoyed the light picnic (meat, cheese and sweet snacks with tea and a 'health' drink). I understand that the waterfall is very busy with visitors in the summer. We were the only people there on our visit, so we were fortunate. Highly recommended.

It’s a lovely experience and picnic with great Estonian foods. This was a once in a lifetime experience for us as Australians and we absolutely enjoyed it and recommend it! We had some time left over and got to go so a hydro dam as well.

We had a lovely time at the waterfall, enjoying the snow, lovely views and picnic. Our tour guide was brilliant and told us lots of facts about Tallinn that we otherwise wouldn’t have known!

We went at the beginning of December and the waterfall was not yet frozen, some icicles were forming though. We were lucky enough to have snow, which helped to create a magical scene. To see and hear the water flowing was still a great experience. Our guide Anu, pointed out sights and told us interesting facts during our journey. The picnic looked lovely laid out on a lace cloth, with hot peppermint tea to warm us. A trip worth booking.

We were picked up on time and our guide was very kind and knowledgeable about the area, and accommodated requests to stop a couple of times to take photos. She also set up a lovely picnic for us and we quite enjoyed the breakfast that she had arranged for us. I'm addition, the level of communication before the tour was great. This was a private tour,, so maybe that's why it was so pricey, but I think it could be priced better/lower for what we experienced, in which case I would have given 5 stars.

We were picked up directly from the hotel. Another couple was also on our tour. It was about a 20-minute drive to the waterfall. On the way, we were told about some of the things we drove past and also a bit about Estonian culture. We were there in mid-March, and the waterfall itself was unfortunately no longer frozen, but there was still snow. It was probably still completely frozen until mid-February. It was still beautiful! The picnic was small but nice. We hadn't had breakfast and were full afterwards. On the way back, we drove a little further past the TV tower and we were told something again. We lose out for the price-performance ratio. For two hours and a few snacks, it's a pretty steep price.

A fantastic personalised tour as we were the only 2 booked on for this day! The tour guide drove us in her car and pointed out lots of historical sights on route…once arriving at the waterfall she was happy to take photos of us for us and supplied a very local and handmade lunch of traditional Estonian food laid out with care on a cloth covered log..along with a taste of Tallinn’s traditional Vana drink. The only thing missing was a lovely log fire 😂it was definitely an experience we’ll remember and take a lot of Estonian history back with us Thank you 😊
