Hawa Mahal - The Palace of Breeze

The most famous landmark of Jaipur, the palace of winds built in 1799 by Sawai Pratap Singh was actually planned for the royal household to have a look at everyday life of the city. The palace has tier upon tier of curved arch surmounting fairy casements with “jali” – latticework screens.

Isar Lat is located at the meeting point of Tripolia Bazaar and Gangori Bazaar near the Chhoti Chaupar Chowk and Tripolia Gate. Sargasuli is 7 stories high and was once the tallest building of the pink city.

The Panna Meena Ka Kund is a mesmerizing 16th-century stepwell. That lies in the underlying shadow of the famous fortress, Amer Fort.

Jaigarh Fort

Jaigarh Fort was a centre of artillery production for the Rajputs. It is now home to the Jaivana – at the time of its manufacture in 1720, it was the world's largest cannon on wheels of the Early Modern Era. The foundry where it was manufactured is also located here.

Nahargarh Fort

The popular belief is that Nahar here stands for Nahar Singh Bhomia, whose spirit haunted the place and obstructed construction of the fort. Nahar's spirit was pacified by building a temple in his memory within the fort, which thus became known by his name.
