Discover the rich history of Travnik, which became the capital of the Ottoman province of Bosnia and the residence of the Bosnian viziers in 1699. The city became an important center of government in the whole Western frontier of the empire, and consulates were established by the governments of France and Austria-Hungary. After Travnik we're heading to one of the most beautiful cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jajce. Beautiful waterfall combined with complex history make it stand out among others. "Dear friend, I'm writing to you from the town where in the very centre of it the most beautiful waterfall in the whole empire is located" - (it was written on a postcard sent from Jajce to Prag by Czech tourists, in the late 19th century, when Bosnia was part of Austro-Hungarian empire). Last but not least, you will visit watermills that are beautiful and straight out of fairy tale.

Catacomb of Jajce
Catacombs of Jajce is the name given by locals to underground Christian small church so it is not a "catacomb" in true sense. Church has been carved in a single rock or a cave in late Romanesque style.

Loved going to the waterfalls and the Bosnian lunch in Travis. Our tour guide, Benjamin knows a good bit of Bosnian, and some of the tidbits he told were fascinating enough for me to google stories behind them.

Mufid our tour guide was very informative and we really had fun having conversation with him about the country. Next time we’re here i would definitely ask for him as a guide.

The guide Kenan was charming, polite, friendly, expressed himself in very clear English and showed himself to have a good knowledge of the medieval history of Bosnia, as well as all the vicissitudes of the terrible war of 1992. The activity was very well organized. We start in Jajce, visiting the underground church and fortress, essential for anyone who wants to know the history of Bosnia, and also by the famous and photogenic falls, continue with the visit to the Pliva Lakes, beautiful place, with time to walk quietly in the watermills and finish in Travnik, where we have lunch in a restaurant recommended by its cevapi and visit the magnificent fortress. It was a pity not being able to visit the inside of the mosque. The tour lasted 11 hours.
