This tour showcases New Zealand’s beer brewing history, the downtown area’s history and geography with a local knowledgeable guide in small groups. Go where the locals in the know go. Starting the tour in the afternoon from the Ferry Builing, walking from establishment to establishment, meeting brewers, managers and owners for a 3 hour New Zealand craft beer and food tasting experience.

What To Expect
From the first beer brewed in 1770 by Captain James Cook from a NZ native tree to today’s amber and golden delicious fizziness. New Zealand is experiencing a craft beer explosion and what some are calling an "amber age of brewing". This tour takes the guess work out of what you may or may not like and shows you what NZ can offer as well as familiarising you with the downtown area. Join this tour to experience downtown’s best craft beer bars and brewers. Get the special treatment - guided by your local guide, meet those in the know when it comes to beer - the brewers, owners and bar managers and of course likeminded people in your group. A fantastic way to experience Auckland through the amber lens of our craft beer scene. A great way to spend the afternoon and maybe even finding the perfect place to return to. Meeting at the Ferry building in the downtown area at 12.50pm for a 1.00pm kick off. The tour's duration is approx. 2.5 hours. All beer and food tastings as well as the local guide are included in the cost.

So much more than a craft beer tour

5.00We booked this as my husband loves his craft beer but after 3 weeks in New Zealand and a week in Auckland he was worried that it would be a waste of time as he had hardly tasted a decent beer in NZ. How wrong was he! This tour is so much more that just a beer tour, before we had even tasted a beer we had had a historical tour of parts of Auckland, had visited an ice cream shop that is amazing and had had good restaurants pointed out to us. We visited 4 different bars and samples a mixture of beers and lovely nibbles. Even for a non beer drinker like me it was worthwhile as I managed a glass of wine and some ciders and even found a beer that I Liked. The afternoon just flew by and we were so reluctant to say goodbye to Mimi, our fantastic host. After leaving her we met with other friends and revisited 2 of the bars and got the general comment " we wish we had found these places a week ago". We were not able to do the trip at the start of our visit, but if you are make sure you do as it will save you time trying to find the best places as they are hard to find.
