Western Wall
The Western wall, locally known as the ‘Kotel’ is one of Judaism’s most holy places since it is the only remnant of the wall that surrounded the Temple during the Second Temple period. Visiting the Western Wall is a humbling and sacred experience. It is an opportunity for even the most disconnected to whisper a prayer and bury a note in the ‘Kotel’ walls. One of the most exciting attractions are the Western Walls Tunnels, which exposes the archaeological wealth and genius of ancient Jerusalem.
Jewish Quarter
The Jewish Quarter is one of the four quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem. About 600 families live there today. Every inch of this quarter has its own story and history. Strolling through the Jewish Quarter gives us an opportunity to explore the ancient archeology, museums, and synagogues. Don’t forget to buy yourself a souvenir from the selection of Judaica shops in the Cardo. An interesting fact is that the Judaica shops that line the sides of the Cardo were built in the place where the original ancient shops existed during the 12th century.
