This experience combines the breathtaking natural beauty of Bali with authentic encounters with locals. Unlike typical trekking tours, this tour takes you through the sacred rainforest of Mount Batukaru, accompanied by a local ranger who shares his knowledge of the secrets of the jungle with you—from identifying birds and plants to spotting monkey calls and jungle survival techniques.
You will visit remote temples hidden deep in the forest that few visitors ever see and honor the spirits of the mountains before setting off on your jungle hike.
After your trek, experience the hospitality of a picturesque mountain village. Enjoy a healthy welcome drink and homemade lunch, as well as a short massage to re-energize you after the trek.
This day in the jungle world of Mount Batukaru is not just a trek—it is a journey into the mountain culture and natural heart of Bali.

We can accommodate dietary needs such as vegetarian. If you have dietary requirements, please kindly indicate it to the special requirements at the time of booking.
Note: We recommend well-worn trekking or sports shoes for the tour and possibly a change of clothes. We are happy to provide rubber boots on site on request. In case of rain, we will be happy to offer you rain ponchos. At the Balikaru Experience Center you also have the opportunity to shower, towels are provided.

What To Expect
Sanur Beach
In the morning your personal guide picks you up for a scenic drive through Bali’s countryside. Enjoy sweeping views of emerald rice terraces, small villages, and farmers at work in the fields. There’s time for photo stops along the way before reaching the cool, misty slopes of Mount Batukaru—the island’s second-highest peak.
Luhur Batukaru Temple
You arrive at the foot of the mountain and at Pura Luhur Batukaru, one of Bali’s most sacred temples. Surrounded by ancient trees and soft mountain mist, locals come to this temple to seek blessings before important journeys. You’ll do the same—joining a short temple visit to “ask permission” from the forest spirits before entering their realm. The scent of incense, the sound of flowing water, and the quiet devotion of the place create a deeply peaceful start to your trek.

5.00What a fabulous day! A peek into the real Bali with a drive to the western mountains, an informative jungle hike, and then time in a unique tiny village with the loveliest of people and a tasty lunch. Stopped at the hot springs on the way back, despite the pouring rain. A perfect day!

5.00One of the best tours in Bali. The guide was exceptional! Did some hiking tour on Batukaru, visited local rice terraces, local villages and had local dinner. Liked that not touristy places, more local expierence.

5.00An amazing excursion. Our tour guide Komang was friendly, had a good level of English and very accommodating to our different needs. The car was very clean and comfy with a professional driver. The guys who took us through the jungle ensured we were safe and could manage the terrains. The lunch was lovely. Was lovely to taste the different locally grown herbal teas and coffee. The waterfall was nice. What was offered was delivered to a high level. Would definitely recommend this tour.

5.00This was lovely trip, we went into the jungle with 3 guides, had a stop with some Balinese coffee and cakes. We then went for lunch at Balikaru restaurant which was delicious. After that we went to the Jatiluwih rice terrace and then on to Yee Hoo waterfall, we arrived at the waterfall at 3pm and we were the only ones there and then two other couples arrived.
Exciting tour with relaxed and very delicious final dinner at the headquarters.
