Regardless of whether you are coming to Japan for the first time, or you’re an obsessed Japan lover, this intimate, private tour will be a unique experience to enhance your treasured memories to our beautiful city of Kanazawa. You will be taken to the city’s most beautiful places, guided by a local English-speaking professional photographer. During the tour I will capture your magical moments in Kanazawa, leaving you free to take in the sights without worrying about the best angles and light, or asking a stranger to take your picture! I am experienced in portrait and travel street photography, and my work has been published in many magazines, guidebooks including Lonely Planet and the city guides of tourism boards. A day out with me ensure you will have a knowledgeable, funny, local professional photographer, and Insta-worthy travel photos will be guaranteed!

What To Expect

Higashi Chaya District

Chaya is a traditional place of feasts and entertainment, where Japan’s famous geishas have been entertaining people through dances and playing traditional musical instruments since the Edo period. Higashiyama is the biggest chaya district in Kanazawa, and provides the opportunity for a glimpse into Japan’s rich cultural past. We will have a photo shoot session in the area

Ochaya Shima

Optional: Shima is a historical geisha house in the Higashi Chaya-gai district of Kanazawa. The building is now a museum and gives visitors a look at the life of the geisha who once entertained here.

We booked the half day Kanazawa tour, which included pick up at our hotel, transportation via private car, a tour of the Higashi Chaya tea district, the Kenrokuen Garden, and Kanazawa Castle. Overall, TK was knowledge and showed us things we wouldn’t have otherwise noticed on our own. Even better was the fact that he was taking photos of our family the entire time, which has left us with great memories of our tour. Thanks TK - will book something with you again next time!

We had a lovely day! TK was a wonderful host and tour guide. He was also patient with our group because we went a little rogue. He picked us up at the cruise ship and took us to all the main points of interest and we still have time for a little shopping at the end. All of us agreed that it was a great experience! And, the pictures were lovely also. Thank you TK!

TK was fantastic! He accommodated a last minute booking for us and made our time in Kanazawa so special. The photographs he took were stunning and he was able to find the best shots in even the most crowded spaces. Along with the great photographs, TK was also a knowledgeable tour guide having grown up in the area and he provided meaningful insights and history.
