For this experience, I will teach you how to make temari-sushi. First I will explain to you the basics, and the difference between "normal" sushi and "temari" sushi. Everyone will get to choose their favorite ingredients & toppings. (Choose from fish, meat, vegetables, and more!). After that I will show you how to form the sushi, and tips on how food presentation. Then, we'll enjoy our sushi lunch and we'll end the day with a mini tea ceremony. We had a really nice time with Maya learning how to make Sushi! It was really delicious and all our pieces ended up so beautiful we didn't want to eat them at first (we did of course). Really fun activity to do especially with teens or pre teens. :) Maya and her colleague were also very friendly and Maya ended up walking us to our bus stop to ensure we would not walk 25 min in the blazing heat to our next location. Highly recommend them!

Our sushi making workshop was incredible. The ingredients were prepared beautifully and everything was extremely fresh. The fish was purchased this morning at Omicho Market and was absolutely delicious. Our instructor, Chikako, was super friendly and highly knowledgeable. She walked us through all the ingredients and allowed us to taste everything as she explained them and Japanese culture at the same time. If you go to Kanazawa, you will not regret spending a couple hours making and eating a delicious meal with Chikako!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience! Our instructor, Chikako, was wonderful. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. She made us feel comfortable even though we had never made sushi before. The ingredients were super fresh, right from the local market that morning. This, in turn, made for a delicious AND beautiful final product! Yes, you get to eat everything, even the extra ingredients that didn’t make it into any of the sushi! Chikako also made us a special dessert to enjoy at the end of our meal. It was superb! I can’t say enough good things about this experience and our trip to Japan as a whole. It is something we will remember always. Thank you Chikako and In Kanazawa House!

A lot of fun and great food. The Kanazawa House sushi-making lesson conducted by Chikako (and the lunch following) was excellent.

Would recommend this sushi making course. The two ladies who showed us how to make sushi were excellent. They were very friendly and answered all our questions on all aspects of Japanese food and Japanese culture. Located in an old building which had previously been used for silk dying. All the ingredients had been purchased earlier in the morning from Omicho market and beautifully laid out ready for us. We had a very enjoyable time and also ate the sushi we made.

We enjoyed learning about Sushi and making it to eat for lunch. The girls were very friendly and put us at ease so we got the most out time with them. Very good English was spoken so it was easy to understand all we were told. Try it you will enjoy the time and learn something in the process.

Loved this 1.5 hr sushi making experience. May (excuse me if this isn’t how she spells her name) is a wonderful host. All place settings are beautifully laid out and all ‘ingredients’ for sushi prepared. May explains the local style of sushi and shows examples of how to create them. After this each person gets to choose any ingredient combination to create 6 huge and elaborate pieces. I was really impressed at the number of options to work with. 5 types of high quality sushi fish and over 13 various vegetables and accoutrements to pair with it. After the pieces are created you sit down at a beautifully set table to enjoy. Super fun!

This was a highlight of our first visit to Japan. Our teacher was so friendly and made us feel at home. She gave us a brief history of sushi and then showed us how to make it. Our reward was eating our own creations. Also, the house where the experience takes place is beautiful and serene. The neighborhood is very nice too. I highly recommend joining one of their programs.
