What To Expect
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
You will first visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) to start your Kandy city tour. This is a very important place for Buddhists because the left canine tooth of the Lord Buddha is enshrined here. The Temple of the Tooth Relic is also a UNESCO-designated world heritage site in Sri Lanka.
Kandy Lake
Next, you will visit Kandy Lake, which you can see near the Tooth Relic Temple. Locals called this lake “Kiri Muhuda.” This is a superb spot for a leisurely walk and getting relaxed for a few minutes. It is believed that the lake was built by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1807.

5.00I highly recommend Janaka! I've traveled a lot, but I've never had such a great guide. I spent six days with Janaka, traveling around central and southern Sri Lanka in a brand-new, super comfy van. From the start, Janaka was very communicative and helpful. When we finally met him, he totally exceeded our expectations. Janaka is not only an excellent driver and guide but also a kind, wise person with a great sense of humor. We felt completely taken care of. Every place he recommended—whether attractions, restaurants, or hotels—was fantastic. The cherry on top was when he invited us to a home-cooked dinner with his family. His wife made an amazing feast! I had some mixed feelings about Sri Lanka, but Janaka made it one of my top destinations, and now I'm thinking about returning to explore the northern and eastern parts. Thank you Janaka♥️

5.00Booked Janaka for a one day tour of Kandy. It was the best day of our trip so far. Everything was no problem and took the hassle of us organising the day ourselves! Janaka was super fun, telling us stories and intestering facts about Sri Lanka! He even was a great photograph too! Janaka was so good, we even booked him for a second day to take us to Nuwara Eliya where he stopped at places we would never have known about! He also gave us plenty of recommendations for the rest of our trip in Sri Lanka! He was the perfect driver 👌

5.00Where to begin?! Janaka is a an absolute legend!! We had two amazing days with him doing a tour of Kandy and then a trip to Nuwara Eliya. He took us to some of our favourite stops of our trip so far, knew when to take us so it wouldn't be as busy and had so much information to share with us along the way. He knows his city so well you couldn't pick a better guide. On top of being a great guide he was great fun, we laughed and joked the whole time and he helped us capture some phenomenal pictures to help us remember the fun that we had. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting - it's was worth so much more than the price we paid. Tremendous!!!
