I had an amazing experience. Tim had a wealth of knowledge and simply an absolute legend. The deck crew on the boat were friendly and welcoming. The island is incredible. I recommend taking the Trig track to the summit because it is quieter.

Wonderful! Absolutely enjoyed the whole experience. The Staff were fabulous and knew their stuff. Excellent presentation when we arrived on Kapiti and learnt so much history. The conservation of Kapiti is great. The walk to the lookout was easy, though a bit puffed when we reach the top, but will worth the view. After looking at Kapiti for the last 75 years it was wonderful to be able to go there. The boat trip to and from Kapiti was great and another great experience, and especially seeing dolphins swimming around. I highly recommend for people to go and enjoy the experience. Thank you.

It is wonderful! Guides from a family with ties to the island so very informative. The views are spectacular. You will need to be fit enough for an uphill hike to get best views. Well worth it!

Putting aside the admin issues we experienced in dealing with the operator, our party of four had a lovely day on this very special island. Our introductory talk was humorous, fascinating and full of detail about the history, flora and fauna we were to experience. The Māori tradition, language and love of the earth was central to the enjoyment of our day. The welcome we received was genuinely given and felt. The rip roaring boat trip back to shore was heaps of fun and we emerged with enormous respect for the skipper. Great day. Thoroughly recommend.

Fabulous to experience a predator free island. Excellent walking tracks through native bush where you hear and see so many native birds. Manaaki was an excellent guide and so knowledgeable. Mia gave us a delicious lunch. Highly recommend this tour.

Unfortunately the weather prevented us from doing the overnight experience but we did the day trip. Our guide gave the group a brief talk but there was no guided tour so we had difficulty recognising birds and their calls.

An excellent trip. The provider is well organised and the staff are friendly and approachable. Our guide was knowledgeable, covered the essentials of the visit and gave history and ecological background then left us to it. We enjoyed the walk to the top - it's a nice track - and we saw many birds including a pair of Kōkako near the top. Their unearthly cry was wonderful to hear. The group was relatively small so you could spend time with others or be on your own if you wished. There was no sense of being crowded. All in all, a wonderful trip. Recommended.

We went to the northern end of Kāpiti Island for our second visit ever. We did the Okupa loop track and were blown away by the birdlife we witnessed! I think the Pōpokotea are my new favourite native bird. An almost insect like sound they make and flittering through the lower canopy in a group like fairies. I'd never seen them before not to mention the Kākāriki and Tākahe in person. Our 3 yr old and 6 yr old managed the hike the full circuit and I think would have had a much tougher time had we done the highest peak trail. It's likely they wouldn't have experienced the views we did nor would my parents in law have enjoyed the steeper climb. This northern loop takes you up to a very dramatic cliff look out where you get to see the rugged Western side of the island and also cost less. I highly recommend visiting this end with young and old and everything in between. The tour guide was also incredibly knowledgeable and generous with his local knowledge, history and hospitality. We loved every minute!
