What To Expect
Karnak Open Air Museum
Karnak Temple on the East Bank of Luxor is the largest temple complex in Egypt to which no less than 30 pharaohs contributed. The complex is possibly the largest religious structure in the world. Karnak is distinguished from other temples in that it was built for so long by successive pharaohs. Construction began in the Middle Kingdom under Senusret I, about 1900 BC, although the largest buildings date from the New Kingdom. 30 Pharaohs participated in the entire project. Especially the size and number of buildings of Karnak is overwhelming. The guide will show you the most interesting and important places.

5.00We made two half-day visits with Hisham (east and west bank of the Nile, Luxor). He speaks perfectly French, is very kind and clear in his explanations of the different places visited. We very much enjoyed the time spent with him, his stories and anecdotes. Moreover, it also leaves you time to visit independently, which is very pleasant.

5.00With AlaaDin as our Egyptologist guide we explored both Karnak and Luxor Temples. AlaaDin was do informative, explaining all the background history and highlights of each sit. They were amazing. All made very easy and relaxed , too, was being picked up and dropped off at the hotel. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you

5.00We had the same guide for both the West Bank and East Bank tours. In both experiences, we had this fantastic guide: Alaadin. He is an experienced archaeologist, and he truly takes care of tourists while showing great respect for the ancient history of his country. There is no rush, and you have time to admire almost everything. It is very well organised, with hotel pick-up and the guide waiting for you. The only negative aspect, especially for those who suffer from allergies or asthma, is that the air is quite polluted, so I recommend bringing an FFP2 mask with you. Although the Egyptian authorities are working on improving the situation, in some areas the air quality is similar to that in Cairo.
10/10 recommend!

5.00This company really goes above & beyond for you! We had both East/West bank tours with Alaadin. He was amazing! Very knowledgeable & passionate about the egyptian history, which made it a great experience. We also had Mostafa as a driver who made the ride enjoyable with good conversation. The chef at Malkata house makes some really good food. Everything was 10/10!

5.00I was recommended Far and Beyond Travel and we we were certainly not disappointed with them for our private 4 person, 2 day tour of Luxor. Our guide was Hamdy and he was delightful. Very experienced and knowledgeable and really helpful with all our questions about hieroglyph translations. We actually booked two tours with Far and Beyond. A half day on the East Bank and a full day with lunch at Malkata House ( a delightful lunch stop next to Medinet Habu) on the West bank. They really were great. Comfy A/C Minivan , with a driver who drove really nicely . Hamdy was are guide on both days and I would really recommend him as well. Could not be more pleased with our trip to Luxor, I have literally just emailed Far and Beyond to book our tours in Cairo next week.

5.00We visited during 2 days the west bank, the east bank and the temple of dendara and it was amazing! Our guide, Saber, was so helpful, we fully recommend him to anyone who wants to understand and learn the history of ancient Egypt. He knows the best places to go and will not disappoint you. And really, you can this man is a real passionate. Thanks a lot to Mohamed, our host, who organized everything for us.

5.00we had 5 days in luxor. Mr Yassin was so helpful and friendly and organized our private trips. First day abydos and dendera temples - not so famous but really amazing and adsolutly worth going there. next day assuan with philea temple, highdam and unfinished obelisk and third day karnak and luxor temples. Samah was so wunderful, It was my birthday trip and I will never forget her knowledge and her friendliness . She explained everything so well and could answer all our questions. I hope we will come back and meet Samah again !! Thanks for everything from Austria
