We will leave Tirana at 5:00 am to drive toward the Koman Lake .
Our station will be Berisha, a very remote village situated in the shores of the Koman lake. We will be welcomed to sleep with a local family, the only one who had opened their doors for tourists. Kayaking experience and exploration of Koman Lake. Overnight at Berishe.

Driving from Fierza to Valbona will needs around 45 minutes, passing through Bajram Curri, the municipally of the area. Lunch break in Valbona and hiking in Kukaj, a very remote area in Valbona Valley surroundings when we will see how the people do their living. Overnight in Valbona.

Called also as the Big Day of the tour the second day is where we will hike from Valbona to Theth following the ancient path that locals had used in years, were back in the days to travel from Valbona to Shkoder was possible only by walking and 2 full days were needed ! Walking in this path we will pass through the oldest part of the village when people are still leaving in their more than 100 years old stone towers. It offers a spectacular view of the long rocky valley mixed with quiet, relaxing forests and some traditional cafes for lunch break. Theth will amaze us with its unique nature, history and tradition. Its symbol, the “Lock in Tower” is a live proof of the past and history. Overnight in Theth.

After breakfast at the Guesthouse, the Gurnas Waterfall is the next attraction. Around 45 minutes walk from the center of the village the round to their pass through most of the village into soft hilly terrain. Living Theth behind and driving for around 3 hours we will reach Shkoder, the biggest city of the Albanian North.

5.00We completed the 4 day tour last week and loved it! Great communication with Andi beforehand to organise the tour itself, our guide Danny was fun throughout and we had brilliant guesthouses and food. Would recommend this if you’re looking to experience the north of the country.

5.00Really had a great time with Andy (our guide from go as local) in the Albanian Alps. We really got to know the country Albania (culture, history, food, etc.). Andy knew a lot to tell us and spoke super English. He arranged everything so that we could enjoy our time in Albania without any worries. Even when my partner had fallen ill one day and night, he continuously asked if we were all right and even adjusted the trip a little bit. All in all really had the most amazing time with Go As Local. Highly recommended!

5.00One of the best experiences ever. We had a lovely tout guide Kevin who was very attentive to our needs. The mountains were absolutely breathtaking. The guesthouses were very comfortable and the food was lovely. Hike was super challenging but the views were to die for. Absolutely recommended 😍😍

5.00What a tour. The scenery, activities and guesthouses are all amazing. I've had my eyes out! Guide Andi was the icing on the cake. He knows a lot about the history of Albania, told everything about the culture and was also just fun to hang out with. He even taught me how to bake sheqerpare on a rainy day! I would recommend this tour to anyone. Especially the phenomenal hike from Valbonë to Theth, with at least as phenomenal views, I will never forget.

5.00Incredible experience, looking forward to my next trip already! Our small group tour with Go As Local was an amazing experience from start to finish. Our guide Andi provided expert knowledge and introduced us to a lot of local experiences that would be hard to find traveling solo. The Theth to Valbona hike was breathtaking and we had a full meal in Theth at a local homestay before departing. Andi keep us going when the trail got difficult and kept spirits up, while sharing a lot about Albania, his experience growing up there, the history and the local way of life. We also took the ferry through Koman Lake (WOW), stopping at another local guest house where we spent the day kayaking and enjoying the surroundings. Thank you again for the adventure!
