On the way to Kazbegi, we stop at the picturesque Zhinvali Water Reservoir, and then visit the Ananuri Castle on the Aragvi River. The castle was the scene of numerous battles and served as a shelter for the local population during the wars. Ananuri is considered one of the most beautiful historical monuments of Georgia.
At an altitude of 2200 meters above the sea level, on the southern side of the plateau of the Greater Caucasus Range, and near the Cross Pass, there is the Gudauri Ski resort.
The Panorama Gudauri is a monument to celebrate the friendship between Georgia and Russia.
Stepantsminda is a small town. The main attraction here is the Church of the Holy Trinity – the Gergeti Monastery that is located at an altitude of 2170 meters under the mountain pick of Kazbegi. Due to its location on the top of a steep mountain, surrounded by very harsh nature, the church became the symbol of preservation of the Georgian relics.

Ananuri fortress complex
Ananuri fortress dates to XVI-XVIII centuries and it is situated on the foreland by the river Aragvi. Ananuri was a castle and seat of the Eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty which ruled the area from the 13th century. The castle was the scene of numerous battles. This is a perfect place for landscape photography, there are amazingly beautiful views of the fortress and Jinvali reservoir together. The fortress remained in use until the beginning of the 19th century. In 2007, the complex has been on the tentative list for inclusion into the UNESCO World Heritage Site program.

Luckily, today the group in the tour was small which made the trip more comfortable. Overall, I had a lot of fun; it was very important for my sister to be interested in this trip as she can get bored easily so the guide and the places we visited were truly amazing as even she was interested. The trip itself was a day long, which I am not complaining about as we visited a lot of places. In conclusion, everything was amazing.

Georgii was an excellent tour guide - super informative, giving a really thorough insight into all the places we visited. It was an interesting route with some really picturesque stop-offs and I really enjoyed the honey tasting! Great value for money and would recommend for anyone wanting to get a taste of the Caucasian mountains!

It was very good during the trip. The Guide was small yet understandable. Food is not compulsory if we are not hungry or unwanted. Finally, someone who asks to pay 20 to get to the Gergeti Church is worth a car.

The sites themselves were fairly average—nothing particularly special—and the experience was made worse by the tour guide speaking too quietly. Despite repeated requests from the back of the bus for him to raise his voice, he never did. On the return journey, we had to pull over and wait about 30 minutes for someone who had left halfway through the tour to go paragliding. That delay stretched the return trip from three hours to three and a half. The situation caused a heated argument on the bus, as everyone was understandably frustrated at having to wait for one person. The tour guide faced criticism too and couldn’t explain why it had been allowed. The day unfortunately ended on a disappointing note.

The tour was going excellent, all the places visited were really nice, the ride an the guide were good. The issue that killed the experience is thst somehow the guide agreed to let someone go paragliding and the have the rest of the group wait for 30 minutes until the passenger came back. The guide prioritized 1 person over 15.. not cook

We were on a field trip with Tamara - just a wonderful guide! She told me so interesting that time flew by unnoticed. It felt like she really loved what she was doing, and that was passed on to us. Tamara surrounded us with care and attention from the first minute. She has a great cheerful personality and a great sense of humour - she's easy and fun. Hospitality at the highest level! Now for the journey: a great tour for those who love mountains, nature and history. Beauty and majesty of the mountains, history before the turn of the century and the most elaborate program for comfort. Comfortable bus and good driver, with whom the journey was very easy. Definitely recommended if you're taking a tour. Thank you, Tamara, for a beautiful day!

Nice trip with many stops with varied experience. We were allowed to sit in the front, lots of legroom. Manu told fun facts and also knew answers to most questions. A nice trip long from 9 to 21 hours but worth it.
