Warning about TYH Borneo Tours & Travel – this was one of the worst tour experiences of our entire trip. We booked the full-day tour: Jambatan Tamparuli + Nabalu Town + Poring Hotspring (Kipungit Waterfall) + Kinabalu Park (Silau Silau Trails). In reality, we saw… almost nothing. 1. Completely pointless start of the tour. The first “attraction” was an old, broken bridge, the second one a depressing market full of cheap Chinese junk. A total waste of time and money. This should have been the first red flag. 2. No one informed us that the Canopy Walk was closed. This was the MAIN reason we booked the tour. The operator knew or could have easily checked this, but did not. Instead, we were taken to a sad, unimpressive waterfall that is not an attraction by any standard. 3. Poring Hotsprings was a disappointment. Without the Canopy Walk, the whole place loses its purpose. What remains is a small hot stream, a tiny waterfall and a basic concrete pool. No atmosphere, no real attraction. 4. Kinabalu Park – we saw NOTHING. After a 1.5-hour drive, we were dropped at a parking lot and told we could not enter the park due to slippery trails and weather conditions. The sun was already setting — clearly the guide arrived too late. This should have been planned and communicated in advance. 5. 6 hours in the car with almost zero sightseeing. Not even a bottle of water. We felt completely misled. We were driven around for nothing, with no information and no professionalism. 6. Price did not match the website. We paid 340 RM per person, while the website states 280 RM for two participants. Even if they added a transport fee, there is still a 20 RM difference. It is not about the amount — it is about honesty. 7. The operator’s reaction – no respect at all. We filed a complaint and described everything truthfully. The response was dismissive, unprofessional and showed zero responsibility. Summary: This was a wasted day, 6 hours stuck in a car, and almost no interaction with the nature we came to see. Instead of relaxing at our hotel, we spent the entire day being driven to places that were either closed, irrelevant or not worth visiting. We do not recommend this company to anyone. The itinerary looks nice on paper, but in reality you get closed attractions, chaos, no communication and no respect for customers. If you value your time and money — avoid this company.

What a great way to get out of the city and into the fresh, clean air on Mount Kinabalu! We had a fabulous day!

Wendy is a great guide for my tour to Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Springs. She is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. The tour is nicely planned. Was able to take really nice photos of Mount Kinabalu. Would certainly recommend to other travellers

We had a very unlucky experience with the weather being so bad hence spoiling the view of Mount Kinabalu from Nebalu Market. The weather got a lot better when we got to Poring Hot Springs but the canopy walk was closed as it had to be repaired. On the way back, we did see Mount Kinabalu and I have managed to take some pictures. Now why I'm giving this 5 star is because it is largely down to my tour guide Anis (again) and the driver Annuar - they were a great combination. They made sure that the bad weather didn't dampen the spirit. It would be a serious loss if TYH Borneo lose Anis for bigger and better things. Her friendliness and lively personality kept things positive and I loved that about her.

Transport provided via mini-van was comfortable and well-maintained. Wendy (our guide) was helpful and friendly. Managed to see the Rafflesia in bloom.

Not to recommend at all, especially for the price I had to pay. The itinerary mentioned the canopy walkway at the Poring Hot Spring as one of the main visiting spot. This is however closed since the beginning of July. The tour-guide only mentioned that, when we arrived there. Further the hot springs are quite dilapidated.

Car great , guide friendly but felt we could have been given a lot more information. Be warned the forest walk was shut for maintenance and we were only told about this after we had booked non refundable trip. Overall a good trip and mini bus was very comfortable

A very long day. We were fortunate to see Mt Kinabalu on a clear day but that was really the highlight. The first stop at a suspension bridge was nothing exciting. . Poring hot springs was disappointing as the canopy walk was closed for maintenance and had been since the start of July. The operator would have known this but did not advise prior to booking. There was not a lot to do at the springs so long 3 hour drive back.

My daughter and I were on a day trip to Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Spring. We had the pleasure of spending the day with the sweetest guide Wendy. She was absolutely fantastic and helped give us a really good tour. She was quiet and calm and was good at telling stories. Wendy showed us around a local market where we tasted several of the delicious fruits. She showed us the rafflesia flower, we went up to a small waterfall at Poring Hot Springs and we went for a walk in the kinabalu park. We can only give Wendy the best recommendations as well as the driver who drove us around.
