Be prepared for a long day. Comfy bus rides that allow you to nap. Knowledgeable guides who share stories of the area. And amazing views you will see nowhere else

Kings Canyon is amazing and the rim hike was unbelievable. However, this particular tour could use some improvement. I felt a bit misled by the promise of breakfast at the Kings Creek Cattle Station. It is little more than a glorified outback truck stop with a gas station, a bathroom, a little coffee shop, and breakfast was in a barn of sorts with picnic tables. We ate and left. We also felt misled by the Kings Canyon "Resort" portion of the trip. We had 45 minutes to eat lunch. There was no opportunity to swim. The use of the word resort to describe the place was extremely generous. It appeared to be a rundown place with an expensive bar and grill for lunch. As far as the hike itself in King's Canyon, the sites are amazing. However, there needs to be 2 guides on the rim hike. We had someone get sick and our guide left us for 45 minutes with no communication so part of the group continued the hike and part waited. With 2 guides one could have handled the medical issue and one could have continued with the group. It would also allow one guide to move a bit faster with the people who were more fit and one guide to stay with the slower folks. Alternatively, there needs to be stricter screening done because the hike is strenuous and the less fit people were very slow and kept us all out there in the hot sun for much longer than we needed to be. Also, our guide was terrible. He had been in Australia for all of 2 months and acted like he was a native. Alex was boring, hard to understand at times, and generally just pretty lame. Honestly the guide was the worst part of the trip.

This was a beautiful trip full of adventure! It is a bit on the rigorous side, but once you get past the steps in the beginning, it is just some minor up and down (a little uneven) terrain. The views change around every corner, and there is quite a variety of rock formations and plant life. The highlight is the water pools, especially the Garden of Eden. It is a bit of work, but well worth it. The guide was very nice and looked out for everyone to make sure they were doing ok. Highly recommend when taking a trip to the Red Center/Uluru!!
