The centre of Minoan civilization and capital of Minoan Crete lay 5km south of Heraklion The Minoan palace is the main site of interest at Knossos, an important city in antiquity, which was inhabited continuously from the Neolithic period until the 5th c. AD. The palace was built on the Kephala hill and had easy access to the sea and the Cretan interior. According to tradition, it was the seat of the wise king Minos. The Palace of Knossos is connected with thrilling legends, such as the myth of the Labyrinth, with the Minotaur, and the story of Daidalos and Ikaros.

5.00We were picked up at our cruise ship, on time and with a clearly marked sign. The trip to Knossos was enjoyable with a knowledgable guide. The tour of the Palace was informative and detailed with a guide who knew the area well.

5.00This was an all pro experience. The driver and the guide were each totally on time, very friendly, engaging and fun. The drive was very smooth and comfortable navigating to the sites, and the driver had perfect English with cultural information and gave a good connection to Crete. Our guide, Maria, was very sweet, also perfect English, was bright, relaxed and informative. A wonderful day for my partner and me.

5.00Driver was very professional and courteous. Got to learn a lot about Crete and the people along the way. We asked him to stop at an olive mill and met some very nice people. We used the audio tour with VR to see what palace looked like in past but there was no mythological aspect included. Tour with a guide would have probably provided more information.
So much better than the cruise ship's excursion options!

5.00Wonderful tour and one of the highlights of our whole trip. IF you are on a cruise ship and worried about getting back in time DON'T WORRY. We were back long before the ship was scheduled to leave at 3:30pm. This is a must do for history buffs!

5.00My little group consisting of my wife, myself and a fried decided that we could see more of Ireland if we hired Daytrip car and driver to take us from Galway to Wexford with a stop at Kilkenny. Our driver Austin was an extra gem! Pick up was on time, car was spotless, and Austin a cheerful effective driver with a great knowledge of the areas we would drive through. Using Daytrip allowed us (particularly me) to relax and enjoy the journey. All the booking process was as close to effortless as is possible.

5.00Orestis, our driver made this a wonderful day to remember. He collected us and drove the 90 miles to the Palace of Knossos stopping en route at a lovely village where we were treated to coffees and traditional Creton pastries and pancake - so delicious and welcome. No need to worry about a long journey as we made this initial stop and could stop for breaks at any time. Orestis was a gem, his driving was excellant and safe and he was so lovely to chat with. We learnt so much more about Crete through him. He was totally responsive to all our needs for the day; taking us to the museum after we had toured the palace and then via a supermarket on our way home as we wanted provisions for supper. Orestis gave us tips for good eateries and we thouroughly enjoyed learning about his life in Crete. He made the day a day to remember.
Worth every penny!

5.00There is no better tour company than this one! We used them over three days to sightsee and travel. The drivers are friendly, knowledgeable and safe. This company is so flexible and will customize your tour to let you have the best time. I can’t recommend them more highly. Our driver also took us a tavern that he knew he would love with authentic Greek food.
